2010 Tahu Remake (Stars + Golden Armor)

This is a fairly old moc, though I tend to incrementally improve my stuff throughout the years. I went through and redid the Stars models, as canister sized figs (But with part counts. approaching a smaller titan.) Some were just upscaled, but Gresh and Skrall were replaced by better character choices.

Golden armor design is carefully painted on the chest, I masked off connections, layered the paint (Auric Citadel on top of Krylon gold) with a satin coat. I don’t paint parts much, but when I do, I’m really careful about it.

The shield has the perfect amount of wear on the large red part. it has scuffs and nicks that make it look kind of organic.

Shoulder design is really old, it was on a crappy moc, but I salvaged them for future use.

Golden armor has a lot more parts now.

Feels more appropriate for a final Tahu set then the official, without being too far away from what a set could have been.

This remake is the G.O.A.T. of all Tahu Stars revamps. I love the golden armor. Great work! :+1:

I like what you did with the chest armor, not only because it looks good, but because it was originally a real idea for the Stars to have “fake detail” by utilizing dual colored pieces to emulate color blocking of the original sets.

Thank you! I didn’t know that about the stars. That’s kind of an interesting look, I like that they were actually aware that plain bright red and orange is way too bright on its own.

The mata red and metru red are so similar compared to the gold, i didn’t even realize he had two colours until the photos without the golden armour.

Also, i love the shield design.

Thank you! He’s a bit boring without the armor, but I kind of like the subtlety of the reds. And that shield is one of my favorites.
