Excellent (as per usual)! I wouldn’t normally think the aesthetic of superheroes would translate well to your art style, but I think it’s precisely the coexistence of the bombastic concept and the measured, deliberate style that make this cool.
Incidentally, I’ve been reading some DC comics lately and I really enjoyed the design of a relatively obscure character, the August General in Iron. Seeing this piece, I think he’d be phenomenal in your style. Also, no (normal) eyes, so right up your alley! =P
The caveat of it being a warmup was very helpful, as I was about to ask that Superman stop injecting only one arm with trenbolone
Other than that, and his left leg looking like Dr Seuss gave it a good ol’ twist, this is a nice piece. I imagine this would look very slick as a DC trading card
Only thing I have to critique here is that the rock looks weightless for Superman, unless that was the point?
It’s very nice seeing your art. your style reminds me a lot of vintage comic books. cool drawing!
well, yknow, he is superman
The artwork of Spuerman is spectacular. I really love the pose you gave him. Speaking of, have you seen the sneak peek of the upcoming Superman movie? There are going to be some robots involved.
Nice little character piece. Kinda an awkward pose though, the angle of the leg makes it look like he’s about to fall over backwards.
