the kid ran into his room, changing into a new set of clothes as fast as he could and ran out the back door

Lauren brings her hand up, but not to punch him. Instead a chocolate bar appears in her hand. “I don’t think we actually get hungry, but we can get food, if we feel like eating. Chocolate?”
