Among The Wreckage Chapter 5

Chapter Five: Namesakes

“Thank you Barterrakk. I’m glad we hired you.” Said Norik, still in the fusion’s chamber.

“Of course. Any skakdi will turn for the right price. Besides, now I should get control of the army.”

“Ha! I doubt that highly!” said an all too familiar voice.

“Even if I was dead, they would do the same to you that you did to me. And what happened to being cold and calculating?”

“How did you survive!? No being can survive complete disintigration!!”

“Ah, so you still make calculations. Your just hot with rage. No matter.”

“Who are you?” Asked Norik, still confused as to what was going on.

“I am known as many things. Most recently, The Skakdi Fusion, and by the more dull, The Golden Skinned Being. Before that I was called The Snake. But my true name?”

The Skakdi Fusion materialized between the toa and skakdi.

“I… AM ZAKTAN!”

Mutran was still in a daze. He felt like the mysterious golden room had gotten smaller. His form was still weak. All he knew was that all of the other Makuta had somehow… Joined his form? He was not sure exactly what was going on.

He had tried many experiments with the fusion of beings and had found one consistent factor:

The stongest, wisest, being always takes control. If all beings are equal in total ability, a new being takes control.

Kaita usually are the second kind. He should be a kaita since only Makuta were joining his form, but the other Makuta seemed to have lost their minds. Why hadn’t he? Was it the knowledge of Tren-Krom that made him that way?

Vezon sat, listening to the other beings in the fortress argue over whether they should release the great being that sat before them.

Vezon understood why. He did not get to say this much, but he was more sane than the great being in the fortress.

He did not see the point in the argument though. Or maybe he did. One voice in his head kept strangling the other voice and telling him he did. But then a third would chime in and point out that they were all more powerful than he was, and would probably tell him he had no say in the matter.

Then his first imaginary voice asked a good question:

Where is Lewa?

Vezon walked out of the fortress to look for him. He did not want to be killed by the being that was watching from the raptors. He had seen the being on Voya Nui, but thought it was interesting to see him.

Bye now. He thought. Sort of.
