Are Makuta Immortal?

So if they had never been killed, would they “Makuta” have been Immortal? Or do they die of old age eventually?

Potentially, they are. As a gas, they have no need of external energy or food, or even air. But they do require a physical body in order to efficiently interact with the world, and keep their “bodies” from dissipating.

Not only Makuta, but all of the biomechanical beings are “potentially immortal” because they can just rebuilt themselves and swap worn out parts for new ones. Makuta are even better in this because they do not have a body to wear out in the first place:

Mutran chronicles:
We have evolved from muscle and tissue to pure energy. No longer do we need to eat, or breathe, nor do we need fear the pains that come with advanced age.
