The lack of an identifiable face on the loyal companion does make it hard to tell what I’m looking at, but the overall presentation is nice. I like the pair of legs in the far back that are too high to touch the ground, but help with shaping and enforcing the six-legged insect construction.

Is the beetle meant to be a full-fledged transformer, or is that just an “attack stance”?

It’s not really meant to “transform” exactly, more like he has different configuration for different functions. I’d call it a “flight mode” but I wouldn’t call it much of a transformation
