Since his gears are just on the right side (like Kopaka’s), I’m guessing his right arm moves with the gear function but his left am will have the locking mechanism.

They all have a gearbox except skull Scorpio and skull basher. They both seem to have some other type of function.

Scorpio has a tail striking action, Basher likely has a bashing function

I question in what way the Skull Basher is gonna do the bashing function.

Just from the images, I looks like Skull Bashers horns would move if you pressed down on the Eye stock.

Same with grinder. Their horns will raise up and their masks will pop off
The fact there are no Tahu and Gali masks freaks me out…
A lot… If they won’t release them I’ll buy the summer sets and throw the masks in the middle of lake…

That’s because all the Protectors’ masks had colors that were next to each other on the color spectrum (or were mixed with black/white, which do not apply anyway):

For example, the PoF’s mask is a mix of red and orange. As you can see, red and orange are next to each other on the spectrum, meaning that they blend together quite well.
Ekimu’s mask colors are yellow (gold is basically a fancy yellow) and light blue. Now look at those two colors on the spectrum. As you can see, they are not directly next to each other. Due to the properties of visible light, the color green must be created in between the yellow and the blue. Thus when Lego creates a Gold/Trans Light Blue mask, a bit of green will be created in the middle.
tl;dr version: Ekimu’s mask looks green because of light. Don’t blame Lego, blame the sun.

Ekimu: Still looks good. Seems like his bones are entirely trans, which is cool. That shield thing on his saw is legit, as is the trans gun. Not so sure about the mask’s colors, maybe I’ll make something that works with it.
Grinder: Y no trans red bones? Torso looks nice, print is pretty legit (not good with his particular color scheme, but legit.) Mask looks cool.
Basher: Similar boat to Grinder, although his color scheme is not as good.
Slicer: Still a terrible set, still might make a nice parts pack. Trans neon green bones aren’t as useful as other colors but might still be nice to have. Weird torso print, and classic gears.
Scorpio: Meh to the fullest. If it has some interesting technic bits it might buy me over.
Warrior: Mere fact it has the gunmetal mask will probably make it worth it. That as well as the trans gun.
New parts: Opinions on the new bones are still unchanged. Breastplates are okay, just glad we have trans breastplates en masse. New blade/axe pieces are interesting, should find some use for them. Torn cloth add on seems weird, not sure how useful it will be. Torso is more silver than black?

I totally know what you mean. It was one of the things that bothered me about hero factory (other than breakout) as well as norik and iruini. The new tahu mask could be my favourite mask of all time and Gali’s is likely my second favourite of these toa. If they don’t release these for them I’ll throw my house in a lake.
