BIONICLE 2016 Discussion Topic

This. TBH, building BIONICLE sets is not that hard, especially nowadays. But the builders at Toyfair showed that while they can get most of a set correctly built, they don’t care about the details or the posing. I mean, they switched Uxar’s blades with Ketar’s, and those were in different boxes. Even if we acknowledge that all the pieces are in the right places, the poses were either bland and uninspired or just plain awful. QB’s fingers, LB’s arm, SB’s hands…all things that can easily be determined by a quick glance at the instructions. Not being able to do that makes you lazy…

Hmm, so the maze was constructed by “indigenous Okotans during the earliest times”. I wonder what this means for the Toa’s memory of it.

Makuta cannot take solid form yet.

So that means he will be able to soon.

What is Makuta anyway?

Ekimu’s brother? I’m not sure what you mean.

I guess he is some kind of spirit?

The website says that he is evil eyes.

i was looking at the summer sets again, and I saw that QB has @Eljay’s worst nightmare: A giant red Pin

I mean what type of being is he?

He’s clearly not a normal being like Ekimu and the Protectors.

Then again, maybe all Okotan Matoran have the ability to manifest their spirit physically.

That’s brown.

Why is a stopper axle needed?

I blame toy Fair.

Good goodness at least they aren’t bedroom eyes!

Quick question in one of the slides it shows the natural rock is blue

so where did they get all the sandstone
though i think they should have worded it better

Makuta might still maintain physical form and must needs communicate with his servants via flaming apparitions. It might have something to do with the powers he was imbued with when he donned the MoUP, since mask-wearers are shown to have the capability of spiritual communication, as was the case with Ekimu and the Creatures. Makuta’s ability to manifest as a flame could be an enhanced version of this.

Umarak is shadow man and Makuta is spirit man.

Makuta’s literally just a spirit right now.

from other places, our buildings are made of bricks but are constructed on top of the earth

is that off-topic? I don’t want to get banned again

He can probably do everything that Ekimu, his fellow mask maker, can do, and nothing special without the MoUP. We’ve already seen Ekimu appear in visions to the Toa in-story; Makuta simply looks a little scarier.

I’m exploring Makuta as being a member of the Earth tribe in Kulta Reimagined, so he appears to Kulta as a monolithic rock giant. That’s nothing but my headcanon, however.

Prequel?

From the sounds of it they’d need to have travelled their in the past, headed back to wherever they came from and then get summoned to Okoto again for the current storyline.

Does this mean his body was destroyed? I just thought he lost his mask :s

Well, honestly he probably could now. I think he’s choosing to remain in spiritual form and making excuses in order to remain in that form, where he cannot be injured, until such a time where he can regain the Mask of Ultimate Power.

This is a good question, if he is just Ekimu’s brother than that would imply that Ekimu may have the spirit ability also.

Not to mention that we still haven’t gotten clear statements on whether Ekimu and Makuta are Okoteans - or something different. If Makuta has spirit powers and he is related to Ekimu, and they are both the same species as the villagers… then wouldn’t that imply that the other villagers could all have spirit forms after they die? What would happen to those spiritual forms? where do they go? what do they do?

Nope, at least from what we know he is buried deep beneath Okoto, probably what the big volcano on the background of the boxarts is, maybe the destroyer’s porpuse is to awaken Makuta. I mean Earthwuakes, storms and Lava is more than enought to make a big crater and probably dig put Makuta by the end of 2016

Something I don’t think people have thought of yet: What if the Beasts have ALWAYS been there? Like the creatures?
