BIONICLE 2016 Discussion Topic

Ill laugh if my country of all places gets it before some West European ones. We are the Australia of Europe in terms of getting stuff released late.

I mean, that would be relevant if it wasn’t for:

So I just emailed LEGO support with some questions about Bionicle, will tell you all I get to know if they answers my questions. Hopefully.

Honestly this presents an opportunity for those who don’t see the sets listed on the website.

By calling Lego to let them know you are interested in the sets it makes them aware that people are wanting to get the sets.

I got the Tahu Uniter of Fire and Lewa Uniter of Jungle sets yesterday.

They are AWESOME!

Lewa’s build was interesting, especially in the arms region. However (as pointed out by many reviews) his arms are built wrong in the instructions (use back of box for reference). When he was finished, I actually liked the Golden Unity Mask of Jungle with Uxar’s head (it’s so much better looking when it is actually right in front of you).

Then, there’s Tahu.
Tahu is epic. He was fun to build and awesome to pose and play with. Some people complained about the dark hue of red in his Nuva Mask, but I love it!

Now, like many people, I have questioned the purpose of his swords forming a bow-staff. Because of its limited range of motion, I think that the swords are supposed to be a bowstaff only when in Unity mode with Ikir.

Overall, recommended buys!

Anyways, BACK ON TOPIC.

Perhaps.

But it seems like the purpose of the new 2016 Toa are to UNITE THE ELEMENTS (hence the name Uniter of Fire, Uniter of Ice, etc.).

Maybe they must learn to unite their elemental powers with other beings made of their element (Elemental Creatures) then use those beings to unite the powers of an element (power of Beasts).

Only the Toa of an element must learn to tame the power of another being holding their elemental power.

EDIT:
It’s like with a civil war. If something is divided (the Element of Fire: Tahu and Ikir on one side and Lava Beast on the another), it isn’t truly united.

“United, the elements hold the power to defeat evil. United, but not one.”

So the Toa are united with the creatures, (technically making them one even though they are both separate beings) and they use the power of fire for good. But you still have Lava Beast harnessing the power of fire for evil. So either the evil side controlling fire has to be defeated, or united (tamed) for good’s purpose.
IF you want good to win anyway.

Thoughts?

Ok here I am with my description of how I think Umarak was born:
imagine the planet as just an enormous circular mass of black rock, with grey clouds and thunderstorms everywhere. Suddenly, after six differently coloured bolts jut out of the clouds, a huge spark of energy radiates from where a lightning has struck (like pure white light). In that instant you see a pitch black, maskless, figure with antlers. The figure is incredibly confused, and very scared. He starts crawling in the renovated total darkness (there are only the light of far away storms), when he finds a strange object. As he touches it, the object starts glowing of a powerful green light around the edges. Now the shape is clearer to the (now terrorized) figure, and he starts hearing confused, dark words around him. The temptation is strong, and he puts the mask on. As the mask locks on his face, the green energy starts spreading on all his body, and suddenly everything is clear. He sees in the sky the comet like bolts that had emerged from the darkness just before him; he now knows that inside those bolts there are small creatures, and that his duty is to hunt them down, no matter how long it takes. But suddenly something chsnges. A never seen before sun rises, and he sees a huge land (that later would become Okoto) mass in the distance, and the comets crash on it, and suddenly he gets swept away by a strong water current that seems to come from nowhere, but would be the start of what would become an ocean. As he’s swept away, he loses consciousness. He wakes up on a beach in total sunlight, on the recently formed Okoto. Next to him there is a bow, and some very curious trap like creatures staring at him. The hunt begins.

Did you like my interpretation?

I love it!

Personally though, when I think of Umarak’s birth, I just think of how he travelled in shadows from Journey to One except… you know. Less armor, no chest-plate with a mouth, maybe shorter claws, fully black Hunter Mask… maybe he steals the bow from an Okotan Warrior…

I dunno, mine seems more “dramatic” I think.

True dat.

I actually imagined that he gained personality and power when he puts the mask on to sort of represent his downfall (from a moral prospective) when, in rage, he detaches it from his face to put the mask of control on (something like “you are the hunter as long as you wear the mask of shadows”).

(btw he put the black spike in wrong angle)

Next will have Ekimu’s Falcon or something, he didn’t take a picture, maybe there isn’t even one.

Interesting…

I suppose these are nice little part packs, which is probably the best we could hope for. Maybe if they throw in a Mask recolor every couple of issues then it could be improved slightly, but will be happy picking these up for the mini builds for pieces.

when will the sets be released in germany? I’m considering driving there.

No one wants to pick them up specifically for the little animals/rahi (that add a lot of worldbuilding to BIONICLE) themselves? I mean, this could be the type of Scorpio you’d encounter every day in the region of stone. I for one want the figures just for the figures, because it’s nice to have little rahi-like critters again. I mean, the creatures don’t count because they’re deities, rather than part of the actual Okotan food chain.

Ah, that explains it. I thought it was because at ToyFair they were revealed to be released in July. At least, that would have been my second explanation.
