One that is exceptionally known for his fighting skills, and is dramatically brought back from the dead and reanimated into Skull Grinder’s image of a fighter.
I don’t know, to me it sounds like the Skull Raiders are either a conquering group of warriors or a navy of a larger Skull Army, which would be cool to think about. They sound like the Southern Raiders from Avatar.
I also like the idea of Skull Slicer being a captured gladiator. Maybe he grew to like Okoto and called it home, leading him to refuse to join Kulta at first before being forced by a Skull Spider.
Because of the preview to Ecape from the Underworld, we know the Skull Grinder was hiding somewhere on the island during the thousand years between Makuta’s Betrayal (or the Great Cataclysm) and the arrival of the Toa.
Thanks to episode 10, we know that Skull Grinder created the Skull Warriors after he entered the City of the Mask Makers alone (they came from the ground remember?).
Also, LEGO.com also states that the Skull Creatures were created by Skull Grinder (set descriptions, product descriptions, etc.).
So, this means that Skull Grinder needed the Mask of Creation to create the Skull Creatures. He could only get it by taking it from the pedestal on the bridge to the CotMM (ep. 16).
As I said before, Skull Grinder could have used the Mask of Creation to make an even more twisted version of the Skull Slicer. I’m sure he doesn’t want a little Protector-sized minion who will not look intimidating to six Toa.
But give it four-arms, and make it taller…yeah
Because of Episodes 11 and 12, we know Slicer’s twisted form was a match for Lewa and/or Tahu.
EDIT:
Like Ekimu? Because even though he ‘died’ in the Region of Stone, the Protectors carried his body clear across Okoto to bury him in the City’s graveyard.
What if re-animation was already a power of his? I don’t think Kulta’s mask is just a mask he wears. Maybe it bears the power of reanimation and he used it to bring back his fallen brethren.
@moamahrimatoro It could be possible. It would also be tragic, a might navy of warriors wearing skeletal armor falling prey to two small but powerful mask makers.
@Lost_Head I think it varies, some are warriors, some are minotaurs, sone are four-armed, and some are similar to Kulta.
But you said specifically the graveyard. I could understand rising from the ground, but you mentioned the graveyard, and I wanted to know where you got that piece of info.
I suppose that could work, but then why not do that with the rest of the warriors if Slicer is a match for Tahu and Lewa? Plus, I am pretty sure Grinder’s goal was to destroy the Mask of Creation.
He only used the Mask of Creation to defeat the Toa and Ekimu, then he’d have plenty of time to destroy it later.
We don’t know for sure if he wanted to be buried somewhere else, however, he was buried in a nice tomb with a stone engraving using his mask. I don’t think Skull Slicer wanted to die, like Ekimu. But that doesn’t mean he was buried in the graveyard. We have evidence showing Ekimu was buried there, but certainly not Skull Slicer.
Pretty sure the new book said it was actually part of his face.
I finally got the summer 2016 sets at my Lego store (it was actually only umarak cause that was all I could afford). But the weirdest part was that the sets were with the Technic sets which I guess is correct.
