TFW you also have been collecting almost the entirety of G2, still want to win a contest, but realize you’d be put in the same predicament.

I didn’t say I thought any of them were the actual set. And unless they’re just lying to us in the video, the JtO version is based off of the moc, not the other way around.

I don’t think the final set if it will exist will look extremely close to any of them. I personally want to see some ideas from each of them, and will be reflecting that in my contest entry.

@Chronicler yeah, I’m only missing new Umarak, and two of the beasts, and I’ll be getting them soon, so I mainly care about that art book.

Well let’s see… I don’t know… Makuta only had the Uniter Toa masks on his body.

My opinions on the 3 Makuta forms:

This one is probably the weakest of the 3 main designs. Looks too cluttered.

I feel disappointed that they chose this one to be featured in the show. I really don’t like the use of transparent orange on makuta in general- it is so overused these days. I also don’t like the generic fire weapon which I also think doesn’t suit Makuta. Just looks like some kind of armoured up Kulta.

This thing is Epic! If we don’t get this or something based of this as a set I will be extremely disappointed. It has a very custom build, unique staff and a great colour scheme with no orange! Very sinister looking.

Even if The Makuta set isn’t based off any of these 3 designs I hope Lego gives us some thing that isn’t extremely gappy with 3 different translucent neon colours, but rather something solid and menacing like they gave us with Umarak the Hunter.

I mostly agree, but I think the colour scheme on the third is too similar to Onua. I’m a little confused as to what I want but I think I would want more black, no gold. Or maybe less purple. Or heck I don’t know, maybe I like it the way it is.

I still think a gunmetal and trans purple colorscheme would fit very well.

The Toa could get new masks. Their 2015 masks got destroyed and yet they still got another incarnation.

I was just about to say that.

yeah, the unconfirmed makuta set, because him having the uniter masks, totally means that there wont be another upgrade. If anything, if they lost their uniter masks they would have to upgrade in order to fight.

Those Toa masks on his staff are amazing.

Yeah that confirms and means absolutely nothing. It was obviously just a cool thing the designers put on for fun. He doesn’t even have the mask belt in the Jouney to One clips. If they are making toa upgrades (I really hope they are) the masks are probably less finalized than even the MoUP, which actually has a final shape. and they aren’t gonna show unfinished part designs.

That feeling when you realise some kids will be looking for a Makuta set in stores after watching the next two episodes of JtO and wil not find one. That is just cruel and unusual.

Yo know what they will find instead, Discounted Skull Scopios and dusty ketars.

Hang on, here’s a thought.

Lego showed three masks in the Legend video. Three masks, three years. It makes sense, and leads us to expect such layout. Then Lego shows us the Vahi, a fourth Mask. What if 2017 is focused on the Vahi?

Makuta already has the MoUP, that much is obvious from the trailers. So there’s no need for a mask quest for it. 2017 will be the race for the Temple of Time.

I say this, also, because Purple Makuta’s staff – that does appear to be a clock, with the Moup in the middle.

Well ekimu might run up to Makuta and knock his mask off again, episode 4 causing the capitol city to once again be absorbed into the shadow realm. Instead of both of them being knocked out, ekimu just degrades back to protector size and makuta becomes weaker as a result and no longer has the MOUP instead having to dawn the MoCo or something.

First off: it’s been a while. Everyone here is awesome.

Second, to business! This Makuta contest as well as the different models revealed has gotten me very excited. I haven’t MoCed in forever, and this would be a good excuse for me to crack my knuckles and get back to work.

Journey to One’s next episode’s look awesome. The three Makutas look awesome. Basically everyone else has said what I was going to say.

But something I’ve noticed about Makuta is the fact that he is still the evil-bad-guy-villain. I personally am still hoping that the MoUP is still just controlling him. Perhaps a sort of Lord Garmadon/GD Venom relationship. I am still hoping that we’ll get a light-inclined Makuta by the end of G2’s run. In G1 we had a villain who was evil simply for the sake of being evil.

This time, we have a brother who has been twisted by envy, and is probably good at heart. To have G2 Makuta start this Generation as a good guy but have that mindset be forgotten and replaced by a stereotypical bad guy would greatly disappoint me.

Random questions:

Is Markuta voiced by the guy who did the Overlord in Ninjago?

Is it possible the Markuta clips aren’t from episodes 3 and 4, but from season 2?

Makuta is voiced by the same guy who does voices for Ekimu, Narmoto and Onua.
Forgot his name though
William Jordan’s the name of the guy

The video clearly had a caption on the bottom denoting that the clip was from episode four:

How did I miss that…

I think the Makuta scene will be the end of JtO after he kicks the toa’s butt and kill Ekimu.
