Sorry, you’re right. The video stated ‘2016 Winter Range’ so I assumed that the summer sets weren’t included. But if that were true, there would be 30 sets included, not 35.

So I was going through the trailer for that Building contest and I found this very interesting shot of Makuta commanding an army of shadow
It only appeared in the trailer for a brief amount of time and their were flashes so you may have missed it, anyway speculate about this to your heart’s content

Pretty much this honestly. I expect someone’s going to have the instructions for the jto model done as soon as the episode airs, and if it’s not officially released as a set, I’ll probably bricklink my own.

What version of Makuta are we most likely gonna get in set form? The first brawler Makuta, the JTO Makuta, or the giant purple Makuta? Or perhaps a mix of all three?
I personally believe that it’ll be the JTO Makuta but very slightly scaled down, because it doesn’t really make sense to render a version of the set that wouldn’t appear IRL and the designer may or may not have explicitly stated “final version”

That would be so awesome, but I sadly doubt it. Seeing that John Ho is the one who presents it and the fact that it’s built around a system-built diorama, like the many creations on his flickr, it’s safe to assume that he built it only as his own creative interpretation to show off. also it would be expensive as fudge

Sincerely, if some adjustments are made, the JTO Makuta is my favourite. If trans orange is completely switched with trans purple (OMG IMAGINE PURPLE FLAMES AAAAAAAH) and the wings and clothings gets added it would be really a groundbreaking set. The big torch (as I like to call it) it’s cool and the retractable blades… WOW. Can’t disagree that the Overlord Makuta’s staff is amazing tho… It’s hard to decide!

Maybe the different forms of Makuta from the contest video are not one design they are going to choose. Maybe Makuta will have different forms and different sets to represent these forms. Might be an excuse to have a gold and a black MoUP.
Or the different forms of Makuta could appear in the JTO but not in set form.
But still I want the third Makuta design or the one sitting on the throne to be the final set.
