I’m still grieving, most of us are, but we won’t let that stop us from enjoying G2.
Probably searching with no real success in sight, but what if a lot of us ask for a Makuta set, maybe, just maybe they will see that a last send-off set would be viable and release it in the first part of 2017 after they get the info.
(well there is my hope for the day)
it would be better than the Stars…
#oh, yeah, and maybe instructions for the JTO Makuta model, since I saw on eurobricks that it’s actually a combiner.
if they would release a small set with the MoUP, it might just be that of a mask maker Makuta with the MoUP…
or just a polybag.
Yes. Just yes. The Makuta set it’s a must
I dont want a polybag due to the high unreliability of even getting one released in my country (like how with any other polybag after the first one). It should be a set, no matter if its a small one or a titan one, it should be a set.
And release them sets in every region of the world, not this Asia or Pacific thing.
Just got the news… wasn’t expecting this today. Still trying to collect my thoughts.
I feel ya bud. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster.
Oh jeez. Look, I get that it’s everyone’s choice to refuse to buy anymore LEGO…but seriously? That’s a bit extreme. I think Nexo Knights has some decent potential…that’s likely the theme along with Star Wars that I’ll be following a bit more. About the MOUP…yeah I mean it sucks we won’t get it physically…but we got sooo many awesome masks…I’m ok with missing a few.
But look at all the stuff we got from LEGO:
That is really awesome stuff. I have enjoyed this BIonicle line much more than I did G1’s. Also, Bionicle’s cancellation was planned during the Netflix production, which would explain why the show’s release dates were modified from February to March. Anyway, I very much appreciate all LEGO did with this theme…bringing it back was something I hadn’t even imagined was going to happen…so they really did well.
Additionally, open letter from Dorek:
Unfortunately we won’t get one, but that’s why I would want a moup rendering and instructions for Makuta jto version.
I feel they owe us a set with Makuta and the MoUP but then people will tell me Lego doesn’t owe us anything and that we should be glad we got G2 at all.(Which is true, i’m very grateful for G2 but I still think Lego kind of ditched us by not releasing: 1. The most important figure in G2 besides the Toa and Ekimu 2. The mask that literally jumpstarted the entire story and everyone was trying to find for over 2 years of story.)
I saw it coming, so it’s not a huge blow. I just feel like it defiantly took the worst case scenario :P. No final set, no MoUP or second half of mask of time, no epic ending wave marketing. Kind of went out on a low note.
Nobody is denying the creative visual side of this gen, its just the disorganisation of it all that bothers us, among other things.
Oh yeah, the MoUP is the reason the whole story went the way it did…bah not set important enough. Makuta the main villain that started this hwole mess,…bah, not set important.
After watching the show last night I new it was the end, but didn’t really realize it until the facebook post. G2 was great in many ways, and the bionicle team did phenomenal work with what they had. I feel bad for the fans in Asia and the Pacific. Also, would it really be that hard to release a makuta set. Despite my sadness I will continue to be an astive member of the community and hope that we stay as strong as ever.
Lego doesn’t treat the fans well! You can’t convinced me otherwise! They made Journey To One rushed, then suddenly out of nowhere cancelling Gen 2, then saying there will be no more sets at all, then saying we won’t even get Makuta, then saying we won’t even get MoUp. Like all is Lego cares about now is profit and this decision of their truly showed it. They truly made the worst decision, my fault is over. They have a lack of care but a big Hunter for profit. I hate it.
I honestly have to think that the ‘disorganization’ occurred because the line was failing to sell as well as LEGO had hoped that it would. This would likely have been from Bionicle’s launch. If three years had originally been planned, then the theme must have underperformed so much that it caused LEGO to change plans and thus led to cuts in production, etc.
They are a company. Of course they only care about profit. The whole reason Bionicle existed was to make money.
But if thats the case, which is highly likely, they should have had backup plans. You think a company like this after numerous experiences to learn from would have had backup closure plan for such situations.
If they strive for quality, cancelling it in such an obviously visually abrupt way does not say anything close to a “quality” decision.
