I mean if I had the time, I could make an attempt at rewriting G2.
I’m about to move into my dorm, though, so I might not start right away, and even then, it would depend on whether you guys approve or not.
I finally got Onua Uniter and Terak.
They’re pretty cool
I’ve never seen such a quick turn before, but post-g2 community, Makuta is now referred to as Makooti much more.
The whole European civilisation starting around the banks of the river Danube, metallurgy, and one the first writing systems as well (even older than Mesopotamian, but rescent discoveries have not yet been noticed by the public eye). Slavic Mythology is all over the continent. It transferred to the Nords, Celts, and Germanic people. Nature gods are a natural occurrence in these cultures because early Europe had lush forests filled with all kinds of animals, as well as common natural phenomena that shaped many early deities (Perun, Thor, Zeus, all Gods of Thunder).
So Im not surprised to see same mythological elements in other European cultures. Its practically a given.
How about Mahcookie cause Im hungry.
… why? Is it meant as a joke towards the writers of G2, that the writers knew notting about Bionicle at all?
Do they seriously like to imagine the writers walking around the offices wearing this:
Now thats a creepy image, it would be like watching a cult
I don’t really like that model, I preffer the shorter one, in my opinion it looks better, but it would have been a nice set
I originally thought the same, but with the MOUP, in person, it’s a whole different story.
You know the JTO Makuta is growing on me. I use to not like it but now it’s starting to look good maybe I should build it to my local tar- oh wait I’m in Canada, Walm- oh they don’t them, Toy r us.
One of my favorite things about the G2 sets is the continued tradition of weird proportions (whether intentional or not). I always felt like the largest draw to BIONICLE sets in G1 were the weird proportions the sets always had. Like, they all looked vaguely humanoid, but there was always something really weird too. Like in example: the Metru had short thighs, weird head placement, and strange shoulder extensions (for the gear function, of course), with these long lower legs and short arms. The Inika had insanely long arms and legs, and the Hordika… well they’re another story. The Toa always looked human, yet alien, which to me was always a large part of the identity of BIONICLE. Something that feels familiar, but also makes you ask “WHAT THE HECK ARE THESE THINGS!?”
Fast forward to the G2 2015 Toa, and they’ve got these really long arms that strangely reach down to their knees and shoulders that are set back (because of the gear function). They’ve got these giant weapons, and most of the Protectors also have arms that reach down to their knees. While I don’t think G2 captured most of the weirdness of BIONICLE as a theme, I think it captured the “human but alien” look pretty well.
Look at onua. He’s got a humongous chest and small legs and arms, Lewa has extremely long arms, Tahu has really long and wide legs, Kopaka has super huge shoulders, etc.
well that could easly be writen off as shoulder armor.
Ok. I agree with Onua, but Lewa’s arms aren’t actually all that long, and Tahu and Kopaka have heavy armor.
The only one with proportional limbs is Kopaka. Your hands are supposed to reach your mid-thigh. Every 2015 Toa has arms that reach all the way to their knees, besides Kopaka Master.
Also, look at the picture closely. If you look at their arms, you’ll realize that they’re all bent, meaning they’re not extended out to their full length.
Either way, even without pointing out specific details, their proportions are way more diverse than anything hero factory ever had. Every Toa has a different shape.
Onua is short but extremely wide and bulky
Kopaka is tall but has bulk and heavy armour
Tahu is similar to Kopaka, but taller and less heavy
Lewa is lean with long arms and really high shoulders
Gali is streamlined and average height
Pohatu is short and thin, but armoured
Please do try to pay attention…
yes and the legs are also bent
Please do try to pay attention…
Do you really want to go down this route? I can take a picture proving my point if you want. Of course, if you have the sets yourself, you wouldn’t see a reason to argue, considering that Pohatu, Gali, and Lewa all have disproportionate arms that droop down to their knees or close to that area. I litrally have them out in front of me and the tip of the hand reaches to the tip of the knee. If their arms were proportiate, they would stop mid thigh like Tahu Master’s.
