Probably an OC or Tahu
I think that Tahu and Pohatu’s color schemes could have easily been fixed by doing the same thing LEGO did to Onua. If you’ll notice, in the preliminary catalog pics, Onua’s torso plate was mostly gold, with black and purple highlights around the Nuva Symbol. And it looked AWFUL…it totally threw off the balance of his colors. But when they switched it and made it mostly black, it looked a lot better.
Now, in terms of the other two, here’s what I would do:
Tahu: Take the gold on the torso plate and make it red, change the red highlights to gold, and keep the azure highlights. Now there’s a nice big patch of red to fill out his torso and keep him balanced. Also, maybe change the gold shells on his upper arms to red as well.
Pohatu: Replace the tan on the torso shell with burnt-orange/brown, and make the black decals that surround the Nuva Symbol tan. The tan shells on the legs can stay, but the shells on the forearms should be burnt orange, and maybe the ones beneath the crystals too…
Kopaka’s forearms shells should be white, but with dark blue designs like his torso, perhaps in the form of printing or stickers.
NOTE: If anyone wants to use Photoshop to make these, that would be great! There’s only so far description can go!
Onua never had a gold torso plate. That was a preliminary picture and it was expected for him to change it.
Yes, I know. I said that. But it was POSSIBLE that it could have happened…we didn’t know it was going to change until the poster was released. It was an idea LEGO was throwing around, until they realized that it didn’t look good and changed it for the final product. I’m saying that the same change could’ve been done to Tahu and Pohatu, to make them look less unbalanced…
I don’t know… Tahu looks good with his gold torso plate and he already has red colored printing on it which would disappear if the whole torso shell would be red. That wouldn’t look good.
That’s why I suggested making the red printing gold…it might not appeal to some, but IMO, it would add some much needed red to his body.
Well he also has some gold lines and his Nuva symbol on the torso shell is also gold so… I’m good with it
Tahu: Uniter of Heat. Get it…no? Well thats cause I suck.
Anyway, Tahu does need some red, but imo the torso is fine as it is, and so are the trans orange shells. The only shells I would change for red are his upper arm gold shells.
I would prefer it if the Toa used torso pieces that were not as needlessly greebled, and have their main colors from 2015.
I agree that they should have more color, A LOT more primary color in there, but personally I like the pistons and such.
Thats good for you. but I prefered the HF smooth style. something like the brain attack torso would be nice.
I love how the images of the sets are infused in rock, like ancient stone carvings portraying mythical golds; kudos to the magazine artists
netflix chapters were going to be 2015 story only or 2015 and 2016
I already doubt we’ll get half or even one episode to devoted to 2015, yet an entire mini series dedicated to sets they aren’t advertising anymore. Definitely not going to happen.
The entire netflix series (as far as we know) dedicated to 2015 story. I can understand why some people might think one or two episodes, but not all 4, right when they start releasing the new sets. This year alone we’re getting the story told in 3 different forms, LEGO wont waste release season on 4 episodes dedicated to products irrelevant to the year. Again, 1 or 2 episodes I can understand, but not every episode. being released during/around release season.
I wouldn’t say that. Since they’re moving on to a slightly different format of storytelling it would be beneficial for them to have a brief recap of the events that happened in 2015 for anyone who gets an interest for BIONICLE in 2016. Ease of access, not to mention they have the character models for all of the Toa, or at least they’ve shown to have the one for Tahu 2015 already made.
I suppose that you could say that the 2015 models were perhaps made for the beginning, before they get their butts kicked and decide that they really need an upgrade. The standard first encounter with the big bad type scenario.
I wonder how Ekimu upgraded the heroes…they clearly have changed physically, not just a switch of armor; especially apparent with Onua.
I think Ekimu won’t simply forge them new gear, but use the powers of Mask of Creation itself to “evolve” them, infusing them with the elements from the forge. Or maybe the Toa change from some other external force, if Ekimu deems them powerful and brave enough to go on with the mission without an upgrade coughProtodermiscough
well it could go like this:
Yes this is just a “mystical” version of the protodermis version, but imagine it like this, Ekimu uses the armor he has forged and then uses the Toa’s old golden masks to transform them into their new form.
i would actualy love it if year two begins like this (though with obvious better acting)
Well we saw the crystal armors at the end of the animations so…
Ekimu : Toa! Go to X place and kill Y monsters and drop the Z material!
Kopaka : K
Tahu : We’ve got the item!
Ekimu : I’ll enhance your body with the Super-Legendary Stone of MLG Unity.
Imagine a magic explosion outta nowhere
Tahu : Old but gold!
Kopaka : My armor did the diet!
Onua : I did the diet!
Gali : Where did my trident go?
Pohatu : I’d likely flail Ekimu for having transformed me into this…
Lewa : HeliCOOOOOL.
I find it interesting that on the boxart while the other toa have their masks on a shrine, Onua need to drill out his mask from a crystal. Also Tahu is still the tallest. He just loves looking down at the other toa.
