If Umarak this year has the Mask of Control, what will cause Umarak of next year to become the destroyer? The MOUP?

Not next year, this summer (as far as we can tell). And it would probably by the MoUP, or some other artefact we haven’t yet heard of.
Yeah, that’s what I meant 
Also, the creatures are all half-dragon…what if the beasts are all pure dragon? With wings, claws and all? Lava beast could end up like this

That’s exactly how I want them. I’m really looking forward Summer Wave, not too much on Ekimu, I’m kinda bored by another Gold-spam set. (Nothing against Tahu, still my favourite Toa) Btw I know it’s probably a bit late for many but here in my country there’s no sign of Winter Wave so tomorrow and I’m gonna take a short hunt.

You don’t have to buy from lego store. If there are any toy stores nearby you could get bonkles there.(Although I am lucky to have one in my hometwon.)

Umarak the Destroyer: An ancient minion of Makuta, Umarak is told to find the MoCo, but fails, as the Toa unite their powers to defeat Umarak at the end of the winter story. Lying at the bottom of a chasm, Umarak is slowly dying, when a otherworldly power (The MoUP) take control of Umarak and mutates him into a giant, dragon-like monster. He takes revenge by unleashing the Beasts and attacking the Toa.
The Beasts: Ancient dragon-like monsters that were locked in the Labyrinth of Control long ago. I imagine they would have wing flapping functions and a shooter mouth.
Storm Beast: Probably would have wings but no legs, and a stand like Akida. Ice or water themed.
Lava Beast: Would probably looks like a standard dragon. Fire themed.
Quake Beast: Probably a wingless dragon with a shooter mouth and a stomping function. Earth of stone themed.
Ekimu: Ekimu used the MoCr to upgrade the Toa and that drained his energy so he couldn’t come with the Toa into the LoC. Once he regained his energy, (at the beginning of the summer story) Ekimu noticed a dark storm (the MoUP) over where the LoC is. He set out into the Labyrinth and the united power of the Toa (or the Mask of Time) upgraded him.
