I really like that the new game uses the same art style as the JtO. It’ll really help connect the different media.
@ekimu i wonder if it will be weird for new fans to look back at g1 and discover Tahu had the shielding powers.

Yeah but for gen 2 it actually makes more sense for Kopaka having this power.
Do we know for sure that there will be an IOS version of the game?
Also, as we all know, comics in the Bionicle apps are always 100% canon and should be treated as such.
I don’t have a cell phone/mobile device so I cant see what you guys are talking about
I can get how Tahu, Lewa and Gali can manage but what about the rest? Pohatu and Onua would both sunk like a rock and Kopaka freezes himself stuck.
Looks bad to be honest. Graphics of the Toa seem a little weaker than the previous version. Toa designs are not really accurate to the sets (guess they are based on the Netflix series)
Seems more repetitive and touch-screen based than the previous version
Try pushing and holding the two torso pieces together. The way the gear works is that it loosens the connection slightly and can cause a squeak.
We already had one for 2015. Though i guess they may be doing an actual theme with lyrics and things…
The bat-like CCBS villain is still the most wasted potential of the line so far… we could have got working CCBS wing pieces which could have then being used for the Creatures.
I think we should petition Lego to show us a behind-the-scenes video of all the prototypes so we could actually make a set form version of it.
If it is based on the ‘certain difference’ then chances are they’d reveal it at the end of 2016 before we have the Toa facing off against Makuta.
Absolutely! Though I doubt they even got that far… Then again, maybe they did, and we could actually have a look at it. It’d be hard to make a mockup though, 'cause Kulta-Kal or whatever the titan’s name would be needs a lot of specialized pieces :c
I assume there will be a IOS version because the other app was on IOS as well along with most apps Lego has created.
You know, I feel sad for Skull Slicer… But if Kulta and Basher are alive, as stated in the latest books, then can we assume that Slicer is alive? I mean, LOSS survived a presumably higher fall (and yes, as Merlin Mann said, he was flushed out into the valley.) I want more off him, and I want his and bashers names. I hope we get a book about him rescuing Kulta and Basher, where we find out their names aswell. “Revenge of the Skull Slicer”/“RoSS 2”
Mmh, true. Do you or anyone else have a link to high quality pictures of Kulta-Kal. Could probably attempt it if so…
Admittedly would take quite a while…
I’m getting a vibe that eventually we’ll see an origin story for Okoto in some form of media, explaining about what happened after Ekimu and Makuta fought and just who the skull villains were before they died/how they died. Just seems we have quite a lot of potential for backstory.
I personally think this year’s app is better than last year’s. The models look better, less paper craft and more clear/concise/less gross, the gameplay is a lot more interesting and fun, and the overall look and art style is amazing. I’m also happy that they’re not totally “set accurate”.
This years game is a wee bit better than the last years one, but thats not saying much.
Im telling you all, RPGs are the way to go with this franchise.
or point and click adventure stuff like with the MNOG.
I just got Tahu, Lewa, and Pohatu, thereby completing the Toa for this year. Quality issues return with this haul, though.
First, a part of the printing on Pohatu, specifically the Nuva symbol on his chest, is misprinted missing a vertical line at the bottom of the symbol.
Second, the friction of the ball joints for Lewa’s arms are almost nonexistent; whenever I move his arms to a T-pose they gradually sag downward. Maybe it’s the weapons, but I’ve never had this problem on any set before aside from the Titanium Dragon set from last year. His torso swivel is also very loose, to the point where the friction is also near nonexistent. At least it doesn’t have too much friction.
Surprisingly enough, Tahu had no QC qualms. I like him more in person than in CGI, just like Umarak!
These QC issues really need to stop, or at least be remedied in the summer. Otherwise, I recommend that anyone who doesn’t have sets to wait some time before getting them.
Save for the wings and the hammer, this should be very possible to represent somewhat accurately.
The shield could be tahu swords, ditto for the back of the hammer, and the body is mostly just layered ribcage pieces, which I’m sure is possible somehow…
The face hammer thing vexes me, though!
And it would be very hard to make it that big and chunky, I think…
Thats the most cheapest way to do it. But a full on Open World RPG would be ideal. Then they could do stuff like Expansion Packs (with each years consecutive story release)
Again, the torso is different for every set, my Lewa has a near perfect amount of friction.
Yeah, wings, hammer and shield seem the trickiest. Also somehow balancing the thing with so much weight. Really a shame we didn’t get this…
Its possible, though need to know the colour scheme to match it. Can only make out the orange, purple, green on the main body. Is the tail entirely greenish?
Same
The hands, too! How the heck would you make those?
The tail… I can’t tell, but I’d make the tip blue! I’m sure you could deduce which pieces to use from the ribcages on the other concept sets
Yeah, just a thought… I guess it’d be possible to make your own MOC, but to actually create a SET, we’d need info from Lego ovo’
Are we trying to figure out how to do certain parts so someone can recreate this?
