@Fidda You Tahu’s mask has the same type of grooves Brutaka does on his head. Onua has the same general grooves that the Parkari Nuva and Kaukau Nuva had. Pohatu’s mask… pretty much looks like Photok’s and like I said earlier, Gali has the weird pufferfish thing that Nokama had going.
Now Kopaka and Lewa? They look like they have hair.
Of all the discussions I want to have here, “who looks like he/she has hair” is not one of them.
Anybody wonder what sort of significance the Nuva Symbols have this time around?
@Dr_Chronos Woah, woah, woah. Just because you don’t like a discussion doesn’t mean you can change it. That’s outside most normal social conventions.
But to answer your question, I’m pretty sure the Nuva symbols are part of some mystery they won’t reveal or expand on until 2017. Seems like something they’d do.
“Where’d the Toa come from?” Wait and find out.
“Is Makuta really evil? Where is he?” Wait and find out.
“The Nuva symbols are back? What does this mean?” Wait and find out.
Seems like a “connect the dots” type of mystery.
Okay, on the topic of hair,
I’ll remind users once again to respect one another. Again, just because you are ‘right’ does not give you an excuse treat another user like a moron.
I’m noting the parties that provoked this. Another move in the wrong direction, and there could be consequences.
judeing from the fact that the Nuva symbols are used for the Toa in the box arts (look at the top of the boxes) and if you guys remember this:
as you guys can see, the nuva symbols are still part of this generation.
my theory is that the symbols now might mean something for the Toa’s, (though Umaraks seems to also have a symbol too)
@DarkHenrik Toa have their Nuva symbols on their chests and masks. I mean, this is all kind of stuff that we already know. We know that they have the symbols and are apparently Nuva equivilents. What we’re trying to figure out is what it all means.
I’ve been thinking about that too…
They are depicted on the forge’s wall, along with a creature.
The creatures have to be sought out, but I wonder, do the symbols need to be sought out too?
It seems to me that they’re the main driver behind the upgrades the Toa receive, since they’re displayed on the chest and mask of each respective Uniter. … Maybe the symbols simply appear after they’re transformed by Ekimu, or maybe Ekimu somehow uses the symbols to transform the Toa?
2016 is going to have a bit more flesh to it, story wise, so it might not be as simple as ‘‘You are all worthy… So, anyone up for a rad transformation?’’
Your guess is as good as mine ![]()
I think they are exaggerating with the nuva symbols, with a single one I could know they are the Toa Nuva, I dont need the symbol in every single piece
with that I want to say I dont like the symbols on the masks,
You know if we take the designers comment on the runes powering the mask (he was talking about the MoCr) as intentional then it’s possible the Nuva Symbols power the masks, or perhaps give it more power. I like this idea because it sort of explains why the Toa have new colored masks instead of keeping their 2015 golden ones, these also have elemental power. Just not as much as the unification masks.
But they also have the runes on their chest, so even more elemental power? The creatures also have runes on their masks, so that’s three times the elemental power! What a deal!
Or, you know, they could just be symbols for each Toa. Maybe they’re their names in Okotian, like somebody’s already suggested, kinda like their “signatures”. ![]()
These symbols might just signify ownership, that these masks and armors are tailored specifically for each Toa. ![]()
I’m guessing the Nuva symbols don’t actually relate to the Toa at all. Rather, they are connected to the Creatures.
I mean, only the Golden Masks–masks that the Creatures protect–have these symbols. It could be that these signify unification with the Creatures. And that could explain why Umarak has one: maybe he is some type of “creature” himself.
…yeah, idk. I just don’t think it relates to the Toa.
to be honest, this is what we all are pritty much doing now anyway with the story stuff:
i mean, we are all just giving our theories on what it is or what role it is playing in the story, no matter if it is true or not, we are just guessing (or playing dart)
Yeah I’m going to have to agree with @Clone_01354_Productions here. I think these symbols relate to the creatures.
Buuuut this brings up an interesting topic…
What does umarak’s symbol mean? Could it just be his signature or could it be something about how he came into being?
Now I’m not saying bingzak tried to unite with a deer and the whole thing went terribly wrong…
But I’m certainly not denying it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
An interesting question is indeed “Why are the Toa transformed? How?” I wouldn’t appreciate something like Ekimu forging them new armor and stuff, it isn’t what I’d except from Bionicle.
My only issue here is the Nuva Symbol spam. One on the mask? Ok. One on the chest? Ok! Wait… Tahu has 3? Why?
You are absolutely right. But, paradoxically, I’d choose the magical substance ahahah
Why? It’s a plausible explanation for why they look different: Ekimu, a talented craftsman, creates new armor for them to wear. It makes sense, and it’s simple.
I hated what G1 did, where a magical substance always transformed them. It always felt like a lazy excuse to explain why they looked different, and it never made sense.
adaptive armor… the reason that is stupid, is because it implies that it completly rebuild the Toa’s bodies, i mean how does that work?
It doesn’t work.
That’s why I’m glad G2 is giving us a more realistic explanation.
I wonder if we will have to wait again until the second half year to find out the real localization of the Mask Of Control.
Have to agree there. Avoiding the sets entirely is quite unnessecary. Lego is constantly listening about their sets via YouTube and other social media. Buying the sets shows you support Lego’s decision with the new BIONICLE.
I mean, Lego listens to TTV and other YouTube outlets to see how the sets are doing (even their online reviews at their product store). If you guys think Lego DOESN’T do that, you need to do some more searching. They’re listening to what we have to say, and overall they make better sets because of it.
