Hello there, first time posting here, not used to forums anyway, but I couldn’t resist submitting my creation for the contest. I prefer when the various builds in my Bionicle collection are visually consistent between each other. Here it is. [image] Model includes 207 pieces, it is as hight as most of the glatorian and 2007-2008 toa. Primary colors are medium blue, flat silver and pearl light gray. All the connectors are black for it to look more realistic. Many pieces were not released in colors used. I did not include any mask because i am not a 3d modeler and did not want use any existing mask - I rather leave the mask making for second part of the contest. It was made in Stud.io, bigger part of photos were not edited in a redactor. My idea was like that: first Matoran created were resembling agori. So, first Toa ever created should resemble Glatorian. But we already have seen some of the first Toa - Toa Mata. So i thought model should be a combination: limbs of a Glatorian and body of a Toa Mata. [image] …

Hey everyone, so this is my first post on the boards and what a time it is to post. This is my crack at Toa Helryx, I went for a more traditional look and tried to keep the design somewhat simple as to resemble a standard release set. Helryx, first of the Toa, master of the order (BIONICLE Canon Contest #1: The First)

This is my entry into the first canonization contest. While digital, my entry exclusively makes use of official lego pieces and colors, save for the mask*. [image] [image] I attempted to incorporate this idea that she is thin and frail not simply into her build (the bone thin abdomen, exposed silver and technic details), but into her fighting style, as a warrior of unmatched skill and dexterity [image] While a mace would usually be a brutal, bludgeoning weapon, my depiction of Helryx used a more reserved and refined version of the weapon. in her prime, Helryx would strike with harrowing precision into the core of the enemy as she dodged and parried their blows. after enduring eons of battle however, her mace remains as a symbol of her past, of her past strength, of her past deeds.…

Helryx, first of the Toa - Contest entry

HELLO HERE IS MY CONTEST ENTRY [image] Obvious the mask is kinda garbage but that’s what the artwork is for later I went for the “Takanuva description” of Helryx. Battle-damaged armor the likes of which someone like Takanuva would have never seen. I thought the Skull Warrior chest would help achieve this effect with its scratches and blue highlights. I put a personal spin on her mace weapon, in that this one is supposed to be made entirely out of water and/or liquid protodermis. I’m sure you can imagine the benefits and disadvantages this might have in combat. All the required images I have uploaded to this imgur gallery.

All righty then, let’s get this show on the road. [image] As you can see this was done in stud.io with the use of Swampkryakwa’s parts pack (I think?). The most recent version of the pack is linked on his reddit user page Here. Mask is by Khingk, available on thingiverse, Shapeways, and for stud.io as part of his parts pack, the link for which can be found in his reddit thread on the subject. [image] Poseability is on par with an inika build, with a little extra at the shoulders from the double ball joint design (borrowed from my mata redesigns and adapted to fit). Hello all! Here is my take on Toa Helryx. She is featured in my STOP MOTION series “Tales From Spherus Magna” on YouTube. Her design is inspired by some Mata revamps I’ve done in the past. Those were also inspired by a few other people’s designs in the community. She has a mix of parts from the Mata and Metru lines. I figured since the Metru were depictions of Toa in the ancient past and the Mata were the prototypes for all Toa, this design would hit somewhere in between and that would make sense.
