Really wish the same could be said of the shoulders. If Kodiak’s Gaaki had won at least, you’d have 2/2/2 split of Metru, Nuva and Knights’ Kingdom shoulders (at least the KK shoulders look similar). And if Kualus/Pouks’ colour is changed to make them the same, you’d also have one colour per shoulder type.
It probably does cross the line, but it would be really cool if Gaaki’s shoulders were made to look like Nuva shoulders. It would make the team look so much more uniform (to me, at least).
Because those three were added into the picture from scenes with vastly different lighting and backgrounds.
Part out of curiosity, and partially because I completely missed if this had been discussed before, do changes to eye color constitute a significant, and thereby prohibited, modification to the design?
I doubt it. I’d say something like a significant color change would be, say, changing metru blue to sand blue, or adding significant secondary highlights, or something along those lines.
I’m planning on giving him a Noble Kakama for that reason. As for the Kadin, as I understand, if the mask have a new shape, it will end up as a mask of unknown power.
I like your idea but I think the Noble kakama is a little too smooth to blend with the armors texture. Maybe Galva’s version could work
@Huemus So does that apply to the faxon and mask of sensory aptitude? They’re obviously supposed to be those masks but because they’re not official then should that apply to them? I’m fine with my Noble kadin being “an unknown mask” but I’m just curious for the others
I think that at the end of the day even if Biosector decided not to acknowledge it, all of the the fans will still “know”. And that may be as good as we can get with it.
The mask of sensory aptitude have his canon draw, and all future art would just add to the gallery of that mask. The Faxon I’m not sure, but I think is similar enough when drawn, to be considered the same mask as Hahli.
All new shapes should end up as “unknown mask”, like the current Gaaki or Pouks masks.
I also will change Gaaki mask since the author requested it. I’ll give her a Great Elda, to have the form of a mask we already known and to maintain the aquatic vibe that the current one gives. As a headcanon, she will be honoring someone in Jovan’s team.
The Lego Magazine about the Inika, narrated by Hahli, said Hewkii was the only Toa of Stone in memory with an armor color scheme other than brown. That doesn’t mean much since the Inika team’s minds were wiped, but it might mean that gunmetal would be rare enough that Pouks would stand out?
In any case: I don’t think the metallic color is what makes the Hagah special, it’s that the armor is forged of precious metals. Theoretically, an ordinary Toa could be the same color, but it wouldn’t be made of the same metals. Maybe the Hagah’s armor is noticeably shinier?
