I’d like to take this opportunity to inform everyone that from this point forward we will not be entertaining, even briefly, any mocs that could be considered “memes” or stretch the requirements as laid out in the rules. You are welcome to post meme mocs but they will not be added to the entrants list.
This is a simple contest - We all know what the existing Hagah look like. Work in the framework if you want to enter.
I don’t want to say you can’t be creative because “it’ll be considered a meme.” but just don’t go overboard with trying to bend rules or do… different stuff.
Pink armor isn’t inherently a meme but if it’s bright hot pink we’ll probably consider it such. Just… best judgement, plz.
I think my overall excitment for this contest has definately gone up now that all the hiccups been sorted out.
That being said, I’m still not sure 11 months was a reasonable wait time for these contest but I digress. Since I’m still very postive about todays news.
The rule refers to elaborate painted patterns, though the wording could be slightly better. The rule exists to prevent people from creating near-irreproducible designs, and just uses the Uniter chest as an example of an “elaborate pattern”; the original piece is still fine.
Also, question for TTV: what’s the ruling on the legality of this armour design:
I’m hoping that the waistcape could be considered thigh armour, due to the lack of other Bionicle armour in that colour, but I’d like to know for sure.
Each spear tip must be a single-piece? E.g. Norik and Iruini’s Axle-Connector-Weapon pattern. Or can the other half of the spear be a single long weapon piece? E.g. Kiina’s trident/Turaga Whenua’s staff.
When you say “single shade of metallic armor”, does that mean all four Hagah entries should have just silver/just gold? Or can there be a variation? E.g. 3 silver, 1 gold
I can’t wait for this to get underway, just one question about the voting: how do the entry’s work that people have only done one of the Toa Hagah? How would that get voted in because where would the other three Hagah depictions come from?
so sorry if this has already been asked and answered
It means that each individual Hagah can only have a single metallic colour. For example, you couldn’t make a Pouks that has silver shoulders and gold feet. There are no restrictions on group balance.
Additionally, other colours may be used besides silver and gold.
Each Hagah has their own contest; there are no officially recognized group submissions. Any multiple submissions by one person will be split into their respective individual contests and treated as separate entries.
Question: It says that we can post all our entries in one topic, but how often will it be checked? I don’t know if I’ll have have the time to make all four, but I’m going to post them as they’re made- is this alright, or should I wait 'till the end of the entry period and try and upload all the ones I had time to do?
Also, can an entry have digigrade legs? I know there’s a comment from Greg saying Toa didn’t have to be humanoid, but I’d still like to know for sure for this contest.
Your entries are only considered entered when you post them to the Entry List topic. You can make any public modification/gain feedback/etc until that point.
No.
Gonna go with no, it has branched too far off from parity.
So question. There are several (~3-4) similar shades of silver floating around out there. If I use the silver shade used on most G1 sets with a G1 silver Mata mask, does that count as a different shade? If that is the case, wouldn’t that rule out using any Mata silver/gold masks since there are not any other parts in those colors?
Also, does the newer silver (used in Hero factory and G2) count as a different color when compared to older G1 silver and the Mata silver?
