Hello homosapiens and aliens of the https://board.ttvchannel.com! Welcome to another art thing where I show you, and you see. This time, I am posting the first of my RedPandalorian anatomy sketches! I’ve had questions about who the RedPandalorian is, well he fits in the universe of Bionicle. Dramatic, unwritten, and unpublished story short, he was “born” from energized protodermis from the forbidden love between a Ga-Matoran and an anthro Mandalorian. It is kinda silly, but if written correctly, it would make a good story. I have the skills to write said story, but my ambition is short. I don’t encourage myself to write it, and I don’t get the encouragement either, mainly because no one but my sister even knows the concept I have in my head.
Here is a little question about that:
It is kinda funny that for a while, he was an incomplete fursona
You will learn more in the next anatomy drawing I will be making. I made the original post in a hurry, so I forgot to mention that this will be a series. However, posts won’t be very frequent because it took me over 3 hours, maybe even 4, to make this eight-limbed red panda Bionicle freak. Very cool *cough cough cough*
this is called the vitruivan man, after vitrusivus the philospher not fomr the lego movie. cool lore, more than i have behind my self moc, cool to see it developing alongside the design. not really any critisism, although i’d use a ruler to help with straight lines
Very cool. I knew it was called the Vitruvian Man, but now I know that it was named after a philosopher. Thanks for the history drop.
Thanks! The lore has been developing for a while, gradually changing with each iteration of my selfMOC. The next version of my selfMOC, 5.0, will be a huge change, and it will make the story behind this character much easier to see just looking at him. At the moment, it is a WIP, but I have the blueprints drawn out so that I won’t forget my ideas.
I have a long history of making dem pistons look like spaghetti. I will try to make them straighter in the future because these drawings are not supposed to be brain farts like most of my art, but rather elaborate diagrams.
Probably just the circle being too small. The actual geometry of the Vitruvian Man is a little complex, it involves a square, precise measurements of arm span to height, hairline to chest, etcetera. Very impractical for a drawing.
Even if it’s not a perfect adaptation, I still quite like this! All the pieces come across pretty well with your illustration.
Thanks! I usually draw from memory, so I don’t look at source material for reference. This drawing was 93% drawn from memory, with the Ignika shins being the only parts I needed a reference for.
