Basically they went through all the drama/controversies from the boards (all of which I’m sure you’re aware of), then went on to explain some of the delays in more detail and some of the behind the scenes stuff with Kini. If you’re interested in the specifics of those issues I’d watch the episode yourself, as I don’t wanna paraphrase the already strong opinions from the episode.
Towards the end there was also a little talk about Tuyet. Not much, but it sounds like Eljay and Meso are planning to make some small changes before her contest.
Those were the main talking points that stuck out to me. It was a near 4 hour episode though, so I might be forgetting things.
Very glad to hear about Chiara’s Volitak though, I do not think the standard shape would fit her well.

If chiara will be allowed to use custom volitaks will place holder masks also be allowed in the MOC portion?
Right now I’m using a ruru on mine and I’m curious if I’m gonna have to paint/print a volitak?

Are those red wires broken rubber bands? Or is it some other piece?

I don’t think they’re ever going to disallow placeholder masks (though, let them say that for themselves, I’m just some guy).

I don’t see why not. Until it’s stated otherwise, I think it’s safe to assume that, because Chiara’s mask was already decided on, any non-Volitak placeholder will be overridden the same way Helryx’s and Artakha’s placeholder masks were. It’s not like there’s much debate over the shape of her mask unlike the other Volitak user in this round of contests.

Marendar has very little canonical info about its appearance, so the entries will be extremely different and unique, most likely.

Does anyone know if there’s any canon statement about Tuyet’s armor? I believe I have read somewhere it was just blue, so that would reduce our options in a similar way it has already been done in Nidhiki’s case with the emerald armor. But I still would like if anyone could confirm it, hopefully that won’t be the case since there are really interesting mocs that use colors like gunmetal or black.

nidhiki is limited to only green because Greg said he was mono-coloured not because he was described as having emerald armor.
Zaktann, who features prominent gold armor, was also described as wearing emerald armor.
As such I doubt there will be any restrictions on what colours tuyet can feature.

Tuyet has Blue armor, but no shade was specified. Even in her later appearances she’s described as “blue”:

Also using black would be thematically in line with the Toa around that time, like Lhikan and the Hagah.
Honestly we should just have a Noble Mask contest where we add the other 3 Mata masks (Northern Noble Hau included), Avokii and Kadin to canon. Heck throw in the Great Kiril for good measure and we have a 6 mask contest.

I’m looking forward to Marendar for the same reason. It had no known physical characteristics as of the time the story froze so it has the greatest potential in terms of variety (it could be a humanoid robot, but it could also reasonably be shaped like a wolf, a tank, an octopus, really just about anything). Marendar’s going to be fun.
This is actually pretty much the only thing we do know. Marendar’s humanoid:
“Humanoid” is still a pretty broad specification, but octo-Marendar is off the table.
