Bionicle MOC: Dume Unchained (Formerly Unnamed Toa)

V1:

A somewhat generic Toa of Fire MOC I made (and the first one I felt comfortable with sharing with the world). I am open to suggestions for names though.

Due to using a Slizer body, I had some slight awkwardness attaching the arms due to not owning any CCBS parts, but I’m somewhat happy with how it turned out. Also, yes, I did kinda cheese attaching that Vahki head as a chestplate.

EDIT: What I meant about the CCBS Limbs (I have acquired an Uxar since first uploading this MOC) making the arm connection more elegant can be best summed up in this image:

V2:
New in this Update: Chains, A standard Inika/Piraka Build figure who shall be known only as “Phor Scayl” standing next to Dume Unchained to give a sense of how tall he is, and also a new function to attach any of the sets with a unity gimmick (2016 Creatures, Av-/Shadow Matoran, etc), albeit in a somewhat Janky way. Also he has Neck Articulation now.

The back didn’t really change at all, so I didn’t see a need to take a photo of it. For those who were saying that Dume Unchained here looks more like a Matoran than a Toa, I DID base the scale for a Toa off of the Inika/Piraka Build. Also, one function I don’t think I mentioned in V1 Post is that the Bigass Sawblade on the end of the Tonfa in his right hand DOES spin quite well.

Connecting a Creature/Av-/Shadow Matoran build set:
  1. Remove Rorzakh weapons from back.

  2. Remove Head. (Yes, Really.)

  3. Attach this bad boy

right where the head used to be.

  4. Put head on a socket Piece, then attach socket to Vahki head using an axle.

  5. Attach Creature/Av-/Shadow Matoran/Agori/Stars set. Here, I use Uxar, Creature of Jungle.

5a. The Pins do need to have their positions changed to attach an Av-Matoran build figure.

  6. Also, Maybe replace the Metru feet with something more stable, given how top-heavy Dume Unchained is at this point. As seen in the Image, I used Rahkshi feet. Also, I do know the irony of attaching the Creature of JUNGLE to the guy with Toa Tools that are mostly optimized for Deforestation.

Oh yeah. I finally thought of a name for this Formerly Unnamed Toa of Fire. He’s now my personal interpretation of Turaga Dume as a Toa.

The lack of CCBS is not the issue, it’s the width and length of the limbs placement that matter personally. It looks possible to rearrange the moc parts for better proportion from my point of view.

I can’t really think of a name, but this Toa looks more of a Matoran due to the short torso, the unconventional, yet basic build sticks out from some of the recent post from other users.

Either way, welcome to the boards- :fire:

Its very gappy and strange

I didn’t say that my lack of CCBS parts was an issue, just that it would have made the connection between the arms and torso a bit easier to manage. Also, I feel like I accidentally landed it in that awkward size category where it doesn’t really fit into any of the categories (Toa, Matoran or Turaga), plus the Toa metru had a similarly sized torso, IIRC.

It’s not CCBS it’s the design of the torso in general, perhaps try a redesign?

I know that the torso is a bit of an awkward design, but what I meant is that having the CCBS parts with a Ball on one end/Socket on the other would have made the connections a little bit more elegant, instead of having to use Metrutoran arms as adapters. (And I’m just now realizing I’m a bit of an idiot, I could have easily used Av-Matoran/Agori limbs for that purpose.)

The proportions are wack and it looks more like a matoran but I can’t say my first try was any better. Goodluck with growing as a mocist, hopefully, someday you’d surpass everyone.
