Bionicle: The Album

Anyone else remember back in 2002 when we were given advertisements for a Bionicle album with people like Rob Zombie being billed as musicians on the album? Yeah, that never happened. But what if it did? What would be your ideal Bionicle album? What musicians or songs would you like to hear? I’ll share mine if you share yours.

It would have Green Day and Kodaline. Nuff said.

Never heard of Kodaline. As for Green Day, what song would be used?

Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
There are two or three Bionicle versions of it on YouTube, at least as of the last time I checked.

The musicians on Rooster Teeth’s RWBY would be amazing. I also think that the Twenty One Pilots are alright. Other than that, Cryoshell and Fallout Boy.

Well, here’s what I envision a Bionicle soundtrack would look like. Keep in mind that this is just me, as we all have varying ideas of what would be on the album.

“Bye Bye Babylon” by Cryoshell
“His World” by Crush 40
“Defeated” by Breaking Benjamin
“Remember” by Disturbed
“Burning in the Skies” by Linkin Park
“Kick in the Teeth” by Papa Roach
“There’s a Place for Us” by Carrie Underwood
“It’s All Over” by Three Days Grace
“Blood of Destiny” by Shadows Fall
“Dare” by Stan Bush
“Falling Inside the Black” by Skillet
“Unite” by Ron Wasserman
“Connected” by Hoobastank

“Yo Yo Piraka,”
“Move along”

a bunch of different songs, but they’re all secretly the Piraka Rap in disguise

Of Monsters and Men could make a good song for Bionicle. Maybe Mumford and Sons too.

I think Daft Punk or Tangerine Dream would be well-suited to the task. They both are primarily electronic bands, but can also work with an orchestra to great effect. I think that kind of sound would fit Bionicle perfectly.

As an avid Daft Punk fan, I think they could make it work too.

Their sorta “default” sound these days(as evidenced by the old school Discovery, and the recent RAM) is sorta 70s, for the most part

but as Human After All established, they’re known to experiment.

I think a sorta Human After All-ish sound would be great for a Metru-Nui era sound, to sorta emphasize the sorta implied totalitarian-ness of the setting.

For something like the reboot’s setting, or for the OG 01-03 era, I think they’d need to craft something new entirely, but that’s kinda what they’re all about.

Now I wanna check out Tangerine Dream, though…

When it comes to Daft Punk, I kinda had Tron Legacy in mind, but it would probably be a good idea to throw a few more traditional pop songs into the mix.

As for Tangerine Dream…

Also, this is a solo piece by one of their members, but it’s sort of what I had in mind:

Also also, Vangelis might be a good pick as well.

Cryoshell working with Nathan Furst, and/or Daft Punk, and/or whoever did the MNOLG music, and/or Bear McCreary to make an epic techno-orchestral-rock soundtrack and score.

This hasn’t been posted on in ages but ehh…

I would want a mix of Front Line Assembly and Nine Inch Nails.

I envision the album having a score by Nathan Furst or Steve Jablonski.

As for any vocal music, Cryoshell (of course) would be best. However, Linkin Park would be cool in my opinion, due to the electronic/hard-rock hybrid sound of their music. Breaking Benjamin and Disturbed would be fitting for the darkest parts of G1’s story, since their music has a very intense and heavy feeling to it.
