Blixt, Primal Warrior of Lightning V.2

So I have been sitting on this for a bit, but here is an improvement on one of my previous MOCs: Blixt, Primal Warrior of Lightning.

And Blixt’s weapon, The Thunder staff as components:

Alright, I am going to get the background of this out of the way before I get into the improvements from the first version. From Tumblr:

"Now for those of you unfamiliar with the backstory of Blixt, here is the basics: Blixt is apart of a group of warriors referred to as the Primal warriors. These are Bionicles that have been infused with primal elements which are enhanced versions of regular elements. Originally Blixt was a Ga-matoran who donned her mentor’s mask (who died) to show respect for her. Blixt would later find her future lightning staff which would transform her and her mask (and end up scorching the mask in the process, hence the black coloring). Blixt is the current leader of the Primal Warriors of Aqua Magna and is rumored to be the strongest Primal Warrior in existence because of her element. It’s also said that Blixt has a strong hatred for the leader of the Order of Mata Nui, Toa Helryx.

Personality wise, Blixt is positive, supportive, and outgoing. She also knows when to take charge of a situation. But she also has a bit of immaturity streak and a mischievous side. And on very rare occasions, she has been know to be a bit vindictive."

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s get into the comparisons to the first version. Here is some pictures if you need a reference:

Improvements:
- More Armor. Blixt now has a pauldron add-on on her left arm and a skirt type arrangement around her waste. Yes, I did have Ornstein from Dark Souls in mind when I added that skirt thing. And the Pauldron add-on on the right arm is no longer meant to be removed.
- The upper legs were fixed. The upper legs had the issue of having mismatching colors. But since the advent of my CCBS collection, I have been able to fix that.
- The Tesla coils are gone. Yeah, those back add-ons from the first version are gone…they were stupid.
- The staff now has new storage capabilities. I have found a way to store the Thunder Staff on Blixt’s back.
- backstory/character improvements. I did add more onto the character since the first version.

Yeah… not quite the drastic improvement people may have been expecting, but I definitely made some noteworthy changes (in my opinion at least).

As always tell me what you think. I can’t improve without help from the community. Will I be making other improvement topics for the other Primal Warriors I have constructed right now? No, I’ll just throw in a group shot when I do another Primal Warriors topic for the new ones I have made since the original topic.

Eh…

Legs:
Not a fan. For starters, the use of the piraka limbs as armor really doesn’t work in my opinion and only makes the model look clunky and hard to pose. Secondly, the thin vahki legs don’t mix well. The back of the thighs are unarmored.

Torso:
Definitely my least favorite part of the model. The almost barebones waist makes her look gawky and is just awkward. The way the skirt is done is very awkward in of itself. From a side view, the back just juts out strangely and doesn’t look good. The implementation of the skirt really detracts the look altogether because of the almost chunk-like fashion of the piraka limbs.

Right Arm:
Don’t much like it. While you could’ve just removed the inika armor altogether and tray to smoothly implement the dagger things it could have worked. Here it’s a bit of a hodge-podge of pieces that don’t flow and looks lazily slapped on. Don’t quite understand the fin hands.

Left Arm:
Once again the armor slapped onto the inika armor doesn’t look very good. If anything, it fits in less than the right shoulder armor.

Head:
The KauKau doesn’t fit in well, IMO. Maybe it’s my distaste for the KauKau or that the mask itself has really smooth textures that borderline fit nowhere in the sharp, rugged textures that seems to be shown throughout the model.

In all? 5/10. It really has struggles with keeping a consistent shape, and some concepts are poorly executed.

I like it, but it doesn’t really look female to me (I would recommend making her chest a bit bigger). Nice job though

The colors are sorta off, and it mostly feels like a standard Inika build.
Nonetheless, it’s a decent MOC. Keep trying.

The weapon looks pretty good, but other than that, the MOC looks like it is trying to be complex, but it ends up being cluttered, and the torso ends up looking really thin around the middle.

It’s a normal Inika build, but with an odd choice of legs for Titan sets. The torso itself is thin AF, and the random choice of Inika shoulder armor is, well… it’s odd, and gappy, too. The choice of a skirt in the first edition, which has been removed, could easily be replaced by LEGO’s fabric elements. The open balljoints at the top seem generally useless, and would be better omitted.

Score? 2/10. It’s a bad MOC, though the right shoulder is slightly creative. Pointing the blades downward would be nice.

eh its below stander lego sets
and the staff looks way to much like takanuva’s spear
looks way to messy
very cluttered
but keep the chest as it is (we don’t want to start a war now do we)

@SwagMeister I get the impression that you think I should take this back to the drawing boards (build wise). Am I right to assume this? If so, fair enough. Taking apart and rebuilding her would give me the chance to come up with a superior build.

@Mistah_Grammaticul You realize that the improvment pictures are the first ones presented right? I mean jeez, the setup quality of the first set of pictures blows away the door way pictures. The improvements list even indicates that the white BKGD pictures are the improvments. Also why are you using an F-bomb acronym? That still counts as using a swear word. Also pointing the blades down on the right shoulder makes it even more awkward. I know, I just tired it.

@h1vem1nd Below Lego Standards eh? Well shoot, I guess I am going back to the drawing boards for this MOC.

It’s pretty good, but you should remove the shoulder plating.

I’ve got to admit this looks average.
The color scheme though just isn’t consistent.

It’s the KauKau, isn’t it?

(Don’t worry, I am working on completely revamping this MOC)
