Brickonicle G3: Official TTV Canon List [CANON][Worldbuilding][Characters][Pitch]

Have you been drinking?

But I really like your idea

nope, just poor grammar.

I like this idea, but instead of Makuta keeping the balance between Ekimu and Karzahni, he manipulates both so that he can end up with all the power, I think it is more in line with his character in G1.

well i dont want Makuta to the be main villain nor be the big bad again like he was in G1 and G2. Instead i want Makuta to be nither a hero nor a villain.

Infact here was a story idea i came up with not long ago. Namely that its Karzahni who is the one that gives the Rahkshi their powers, but because the rahkshi and the Brotherhood members only know about Ekimu and Makuta, they thus belive that the powers were gifts from Makuta. The Rahkshi then creates chaos all over the island and causes the matorans to go to war against one another, and when Makuta is finely free, he sees all of the chaos and knows that its the work of Karzahni, but because the toa does not know that (nor do we), they instead assume that this is all part of some evil plan of Makuta. So when the Toa stops Makutas plans they (and we) learn that they were wrong and that Makuta instead was trying to prevent Karzahni from coming back.

so makuta is the big bad again![quote=“DarkHenrik, post:280, topic:34404”]
i like it more if Makuta is more about keeping a balance betwine the two sides rather than letting ither of them get a foot hold
[/quote]

I agree why is makuta always the baddie! in my G4 which might kinda be set trillions of ears after g3 becaus it is set trillions after G2 and there is a war were the toa all get killed and the ko matoran betray the others, makuta is not he main baddie Creative Content my villain mocs are, so why does makuta always have to be the big baddie? if in every spider man movie green goblin was the main baddie would it still be a popular franchise? Would fans get annoyed that it was always makuta? why not an aged bohrok or aged rahkshi or a completely new villain?

I think it should be made clear that for our G3 Makuta is our main antagonist for the three year pitch.

We also share an interest in making Makuta a morally grey character, we are opting to do that through his motivations rather than his actions. I feel like if you made Makuta completely grey and give all his villainous roles to Karzhani than you’d be reducing a lot of what makes him essential to the story.

Karzahni is not a part of the story at all in any capacity for this pitch. He doesn’t even exist to the characters until year four, and that’s only if LEGO were to greenlight a year four.

We’re adding subtle hints to his existence in the three year pitch, but that’s only to set up his character in the very distant future, and as such he has no role in the plot right now.

I just want to make that clear because I think there’s a grievance misunderstanding as to what role Karzahni is serving in this pitch. I’m seeing a lot of topics about 8th Toa’s and the like based off Karzahni, but Karzahni is not a player in this story at all so ultimately these ideas and suggestions are unfortunately a waste of time in terms of contributing to Brickonicle.

I need to write down a longer list of Canon things, alot of the podcast is rather chaotic TBH.

I will look into what I can do.

So no takanuva :sob: he never got to kill makuta for once and for all but my G4 is almost completely the same as G1 just no 06-09 instead Takanuva killed makuta before being killed by Dr Lehrahk

after having seen the newest podcast i still find the idea of Makuta being this sort of Lord Business like character to be flawed.

but the idea of Karzahni being able to see possible futures actually ended up giving me an idea for a better way to have Makuta be the villain of the story while still not being a 100% evil character. Namely that Makuta learned from Karzahni a possible future were in the elemental gods enslaved the matorans and ruled over them with an iron fist. And when the Elemental gods over threw Ekimu and Makuta, he then came to belive that this future may happend so when he is brough back thanks to the Rahkshi, Makuta then sets in motion his plan to eliminate the elemental gods to save the matorans.

Is there already a solution to how the use of the Mask of time’s power are limited or what downsides the usage of it are?
If not then here are my thought on it. I had the idea (most likely many had it before me) that the more the wielder uses it the more it takes away of his own lifetime.

Again I am sorry if this is just a repetition of what has been discussed already, I have lost overview over the G3 topic and am trying to find my way back in.

but do makuta exists on G1 2008?

Now this topic is going to be very helpful. I do have one question though: What exactly does it mean when a matoran has their elemental power “awakened”? I currently have some Ideas, and am going to make a topic for them.

In my own opinion, and what has been discussed on the podcast, I don’t think that Makuta really cares about the matoran, or even the island of Artahka. I seem to remember someone in the cast saying that Makuta views Artahka as a “failed experiment”. The only “person” he cares about is his brother, which i believe is at least one of his motivations. correct me if I’m wrong on any of this.

the cast wanted to make Makuta be morally grey, however the problem is that his actions ultimatly makes his moral reasons seem dubious. he wants to take away the matorans sentiece because he belives it will spare them from pain… even though his actions just makes more suffering and thus he comes more of as a villain who is lying about his cause. Like you said, he just comes off like he just does not care about the matorans, and infact is like one of those cold hearted scientist who kills off their creations when they did not meet their expectations.

Kind of makes me wonder if people want G3 Makuta to be a morally grey character, or if they just want him to be just like his G1 and/or G2 counterparts.

We want him to have actual motivations and reasons for doing the things he’s doing outside of pure vanity and jealousy. The Makuta of G1 and G2 is completely 1 dimensional, he’s evil for evils sake and behaves as such. Yes, we want him to be morally grey, but he is also still our villain.

He has reasons for doing what he’s doing and truly believes what he’s doing is right for everyone, and that’s what makes him a grey character. Through his actions and interactions with other characters. He is not an anti-hero, and he doesn’t need to be one to be a grey character.

The suffering caused to the matoran through death, pain, and loss are all creations of Ekimu in Makuta’s eyes. He’s the one responsible for making them suffer, Makuta merely wants to free them from the mortality they’ve been forced into by Ekimu.
