I’m tired of getting a long backlog of notifications about things like liked posts and replies. Is there a way to delete them instead of marking the as read?

In the lower right is a Dismiss button. If you don’t want to have topics put into your unread, you can either manually set the topics to Normal:
Or you can change your notification settings for your account.
As far as I’m aware, you can’t literally just remove the messages from the dropdown menu, but Dismissing them has the same affect. It’s like hitting Shift-Esc on a Discord server.
