I enjoyed the Helryx contest more only because of Hoseryx.

Short clarification - I was aware of these boards since long prior to the contests, but only made an account in response to them. There wasn’t really an option for that, so I just said that I discovered the boards through them.

I knew the results of the Art Contests were better-received than the results of the MOC Contest, but I didn’t think it was that much more.

Same.

I think Artakha MOC contest was more boring then Helryx’. There was the hoseryx scandal, which was very disappointing, but otherwise I think entries were more creative and distinct. I do not like both MOCs because of several personal reasons, but arts, as most canon representaionts, are outstanding.

I feel like the “have you been happy with the results” polls needed more options, since in my case I’ve only been satisfied with the results of one of the two contests so far.

Me too.

As for me: I’m planning to enter both art and MOCs into the contests; I’ve enjoyed the Artakha MOC contest, since it was very smooth and I really liked the MOC that ended up winning, but I have not at all enjoyed the Helryx contest because of Hoseryx and the Winning entry that was disappointing.
I am satisfied with the results of both art contests.
Like @Toa-of-Snow, I knew about the Message Boards before the contests begun, but I made an account only to participate in them and ended up becoming a permanent(ish) user. I’m not planning to leave the boards after the contests’ end

I joined only to support the superior Hoseryx. These canon contests are against the idea of lego all together but Hoseryx was something that the fandom needed.

I joined to vote in the Helryx contest, although I had heard of the boards a few years prior.

I am very happy with the winning art and Mocs, at least appearance-wise. I’ve heard that their poseability and stability aren’t great, but as a person who doesn’t plan on building any of them, appearances are more important to me. Anyway, I look forward to seeing what comes next.

I do plan on submitting Mocs and artwork for most of the characters.

Why do you think so?

I didn’t mind hoseryx all that much. It was a funny meme, and it generated a lot of fantastic artwork. I guess it did get a little out of hand though with the alt-accounts and whatnot.

Lego shouldnt be tied with canon and ‘official’ images. Canon in bonkles became just a way to gatekeep stuff. It is good that Greg was not so creative with writing, most of his character descriptions are easy to make your own versions if you want to. In the end it is just lego, just imagine… was their tagline when Bionicle was young and the series had no canon at all.

““alt accounts””
still haven’t seen any evidence that they weren’t bionicle fans.
believe what the council tells you is truth I guess.

The artahka contest went much more smoothly but I honestly enjoyed the helryx contest more, but that could just be down to the fact that I actually participated in that one

So then what’s the point of having a story? Why didn’t Lego just say “here’s some action figures, have fun!”?

And if you don’t want official images, then you better not look at pictures of the sets, since those are official character images.

I definitely enjoyed Artahka more since the rules were more fleshed out and the entries were more believable than the Helryx ones. Also there was less arguing so that was a plus.

i enjoy these contests the same way i enjoy the three stooges: everything goes wrong, all of the time, and it’s very funny
