Hello there!
This is a painting I painted with oil paints on a 16 by 20 inch canvas for my art class. It is in the cubism style (hence, all the geometric sections).
For reference, here is the original picture of it, of which I painted from (found on Google). (obviously, this is not mine!)
So… What do you all think? Just so you all know, this took a REALLY long time to make (no “safety”/ “prevent from painting into the next area” tape was used in making this).
Comments and constructive criticism is appreciated!
@Omega_Tahu Thanks! @Hutere_the_Toa_of_Air Thank you! @JoeScibelli Thanks! @Rockho Thank you! (I thought the purple was blue when I was first using it! ) @Leoxandar I can’t really see the head, but that’s the magic of cubism, isn’t it? @Radiation-7901 Thank you! Some people in my class just used solid colors, but I think this styles looks better with gradations!. @Grimsock Thank you! (I think it will be a long while before I do cubism again!) @Ultimate_TChalla Thank you! The coloring was really time consuming and painstaking (especially without masking tape!)
Thank you all for your feedback! I know it’s kind of hard to tell what it is. But that’s just what cubism is: Lots of basci shapes and angles. Thanks again!
That’s not entirely true. While that’s a main point of cubism, there’s alot of other things that make up cubism. there’s also stuff like weird angles of faces and stuff like that. I’m no expert, but I know there’s more than just angles.
As others have said, it took a bit to make it out, but I suppose that’s the beauty of cubism. Great work here! I hope to see more stuff like this from you…
