Upon seeing the abomination of Savager's form in front of Bruce’s human eyes, he felt more likely disgust by this sight as his foot repulsors activated and started to fly around, his hands forming into repulsor cannons and began firing at Savager while on his back the micro-missiles deployed and came straight towards Savager.
Savager took the hits, in fact, came towards them himself. Savager smashed his body through the explosion as if he were breaking through a barrier. He then swiped his claw at Bruce, grabbing him by the leg. With an immense amount of force, Savager slammed Bruce's body into the ground, creating cracks where he landed. He repeated this several more times back and forth until Bruce was disoriented and weakened by the blows.
Bruce indeed felt disoriented and weakened, almost about to throw up even as his vision became very blurry. Mercy was detecting that Bruce was in a life-threatening situation and if something did not happen he could likely die.
Suddenly his HUD vision turned from blue to red, as there were mechanical sounds and steam coming off from his suit. It started shifting into a more streamed line form, his shoulder armor was bigger as well as his kneecap armor.
Two big spikes protruded from his collarbone and his helmet together with his overall body changed and Bruce felt a sudden boost of energy in his life force, the dizziness and blurry vision with other painful emotions all gone as his right hand materialized into a much larger repulsor cannon and blasts Savager’s claws off of his foot and lands by doing a backflip with a ground pound on the ground.
He took a few breaths as he came to himself and looked at Savager. “Okay, my turn.” He said as his forearms transformed into two big unibeam cannons that were glowing a very bright blue.
Savager loomed high above Bruce menacingly, as he began to unsteadily stand up in a bipedal position. He now towered high above Bruce.
If Savager could have grinned at this moment, he would have. He raised both claws in the air, as he prepared to strike one final killing blow on Bruce.
Suddenly, out from nowhere, a large weapon came smashing down on Savager's body. It was large Angelic weapon, appearing to be a cross between a Warhammer and a Battle Axe.
Berserker charged out of the darkness and retrieved his weapon from Savager's body as he jabbed his spiked fist into the creature. Savager charged forward and began wrestling Berserker. The two behemoths struggled against one another, neglecting to care for their surroundings or the people in it.
Savager coiled his tentacles around Berserker's neck, attempting to strangle him to death. But Berserker sliced Savager's tentacles away and kicked him back.
Savager roared with fury. With what bare intelligence he had left, he managed to muster a few final words to Berserker.
"I...just...wanted...to be...powerful....l-like you!" The monster wailed.
Berserker, showing no remorse to the monster, gripped Skullbreaker tightly as he swung down hard. The force of the blow was powerful enough to split Savager's body clean in half down the middle, right through the brain.
When the two halves of Savager slumped down lifelessly, Berserker kicked them off over the edge of a deep pit. He then roared triumphantly.
“Took you long enough,” Bruce said to Berseker with a deadpan expression as he crossed his arms under his chest and looked at him. Berserker could tell that he was arching an eyebrow at him behind his helmet.
Berserker turned to face Bruce with a glare. However, before the beast could react, he reverted back into Mark.
Mark, exhausted by his transformation, collapsed to his knees, wiping Savager's black blood from his body.
The helmet dissolved into his collar as he walked towards Mark.
"What's with the new getup?" He remarked to Bruce, half-confused by his new form.
He blinked a few times as he realized that he indeed had a new form, he looked at himself for a second there and then back at Mark.
“I honestly don’t know.” He said sincerely. “When I was about to die, it just activated and allowed me to escape Savager’s grip.”
"Oh, that? We installed that as a mechanism in your suit." Michael said to Bruce.
"Whenever you or your suit reaches critical damage, it will 'evolve' into a more advanced and deadlier form as a precautionary measure."
“Neat,” Bruce said with a smirk. “No wonder why it felt so alive when I first put it on.”
Mark slowly turned to face the newly arrived figure. After examining it closely, he recognized who they were.
"L-Leadhead? Is that you?" Mark asked.
The angels nodded dutifully, and followed behind Dr. X.
"Well, it appears we weren't the first to have attempted this." An angel remarked, even noticing the remains of multiversal beings like Angels, Xir'algath and Infinites among the bodies.
