The Bionicle Stars (and any other Av-Matoran style figure from 2008-2010) are often maligned for lackluster designs with very few and specialized pieces, limiting the rebuild and MOCing possibilities. This is indeed true. However, I have recently got 4 of the Stars sets - Gresh, Skrall, Takanuva and Tahu - and have since been experimenting with their parts, trying to see what is possible with such limited pieces. I’ve built many tablescrap combiners with those 4 sets, though many didn’t turn out good - but here’s one that I really like and decided to share. I used only parts from Gresh and Skrall.

Combine! A mighty warrior is born.
With a sharp sword, a big shield and wings, this is quite a formidable fighter.
Even on the back he is armed, with a tail that has a sharp stinger.
Removing his arsenal gives us a better look at the guy himself.
The wings are on ball joints.
A few parts are left over, but most has been used. The lime green hand gets interchanged with Skrall’s head when he’s not supposed to hold the sword.
So that’s it, a quick showcase of a simple but (to me) very nice combiner MOC! If you want to build him, I don’t think it’s very difficult with just these images, but I can also make instructions if needed.
