Crack in the mask of life

I remember in the bionicle books from 2007 it mentioned that there was a crack in the Ignika and it’s power was leaking although i never saw any official images of the cracked mask, until i bought some bionicle cards and the Joker was the Ignika with part of the right side destroyed:

Do you guys think this would have been an official/canon representation of the mask when it was cracked?

it looks more like its rotting away or its being broken down with acid.

the package for the toa mistika had the ignika with a scar as the lid

Good guy part: clean and well kept.
Bad guy part: anything that a college student touches

Represents the duality of both sides and the ultimate fate of what if the other side won.

Also that the good guys are white blood cells to heal the mata nui robot while the bad guys are viruses eatting away at it.
