Cronk's Inktober 2025

Do you like Catwoman? Because you’re gonna get Catwoman.

I’ll draw other characters too this month for some reason my hyperfixation is Catwoman rn.

Inktober prompt: “Weave”

Kurokage is my current DND character, a lawful evil Yuan-Ti Pureblood Wizard.

He looks really cool the way you designed this character. What is his lore?

Basically doing a “War of the Three Kingdoms” setting, this character came from a noble Yuan-Ti house but was betrayed after they decided to try and sacrifice him due to being the “weakest link”. He ran as a young man and joined the imperial army, where he gained purpose. When his commanding general, a person he trained under and admired, died and was replaced by another incompetent noble, Kurokage revolted. He was imprisoned afterwards. At the beginning of the campaign we escaped jail and received a pardon, and now Kurokage is trying to reclaim his glory.

Day 3, following the prompt “Crown”

Ahab and queen Jezebel from 1st Kings in The Holy Bible

Ooh, nice! Cool to see biblical art, really captures Jezebel’s character. (I like how even Ahab looks like he’s done with her)

These two look magnificent. Who are you going to draw next?

Ah yes the flooded dungeon with difficult terrain. Poor sorceress Ramona is having a bad time, but everyone else is fine.

I agree with Racie, biblical art is very cool. Jezebel looks suitably psychotic.

As for the adventurers, I quite like the design of the crew and the concept of the flooded dungeon. But why is Ramona named while the others are not?

(Also, I assume this is unintentional, but the erased edge of the knight’s sword is kind of cool. It makes it look to me like the blade has some special virtue that causes it to have a ghostly echo/shadow or something.)

The others are named Sweyn, Logan, and Torna. Just forgot to share their names.

This is really an awesome artwork. This kinda reminds me of Dungeon Meshi. I just hope Ramona is fine.

These character designs are really awesome. Say will you add some new characters as well? I had the idea of a Taddol witch or Taddol sorceress. I wonder how Ramona, Sweyn, Logan and Torna would interact when confronting what I said. I mean it would be really cool to see.

Mog looks like he could mog anyone

I’m liking these characters! Hopefully we’ll get to see more of them in the future

I don’t take character requests and ideas from others, especially if I publish these characters. That creates legal headaches. As for other characters, I am considering a lesser dragon for a companion, but I am uncertain how well that would work.

Right now trying to conceptualize a plot for a story. I have made a lot of pencil drawings.

I don’t know what it is about Ramona–maybe that her face is hidden, or her expression in the flooded dungeon?–but she’s got the most character of the bunch to me. Excellent choice of colors, too. As for the others, the art is good as usual, although I feel most of them are somewhat generic (nothing that can’t be fixed with some story characterization, I think). Torna is probably my next favorite of the first four; I like her pointy ears, pointy sheaths, and extra-pointy shoes.

Mog’s got some good character to him too. I think the spikes on his shoes do heavy-lifting for storytelling, because I assume the “Wastes” mentioned are periglacial in nature and that his shoes are designed for grip in frozen earth. That, combined with his bare skin, make me think he’s inured to a harsh environment just as, presumably, his disposition is inured to harsh deeds.

Potema is Hawkgirl-But-Significantly-Better in my mind. No, I don’t like Hawkgirl’s design or character. =P I’m also a sucker for gold and blue.

On the general Inktober topic you mentioned people expressed interest in a sword-and-sorcery comic, and I’ll echo that sentiment here. Also, as a fantasy writer myself, feel free to fish for ideas if desired, although you clearly have plenty of good ones already.

Sweyn and Logan are definitely intended to look sorta generic, trying to go for an old 80s fantasy vibe with them. Logan I will need to develop his character though, to be frank, I actually like straight man characters.

Glad you like characters like Ramona and Torna, they do certainly drip with personality, especially since their designs reflect their backstory. And you are correct, Mog is from a northern settlement, and is seen as a barbarian. Also, Potema is fun because I love the designs of Valkyries.

Good to know. Gonna try and script something up.

When you mean a lesser dragon do you mean a wyrm, or some sort of wyvern? If not those what kind of dragon-like relative are you planning to use?
