Yeah definitely avoid the metal ones on any heads. RolloutReview’s YT review on his MoUPs actually demonstrates how to properly fit them on to a pedestal if that’s your plan. Just as a precaution, regardless of the material you pick, they need to be placed on in a very specific manner as to not damage any of your parts. So if you go the pedestal route, check his video.
Thanks for the insight, guys. I am planning on using the masks on some characters (I.e. JTO Makuta), so I won’t get the metal versions. What plastic material would get the most detail?
If you want to paint it and have the money, the frosted detailed option. If you dont want to paint, then the premium verstile is the second best and the color won’t matter, that’d just be up to you.
Do you own the ONO printer? And do you recommend it? Thanks!
Also, your masks look great! I wish I could afford one T_T
Thanks! I’ll definitely use this info when ordering.
Personally, I just got the plain plastic. It’s pretty durable and for color; it comes down to personal preference.
Did you end up finding the file? I also hold interest in getting my hands on it.
Yes I did end up finding the file. Unfortunately, the computer that I had the file on had died on me a while ago and I have not looked into trying to access the information from the dead computer. I was mainly waiting to get a replacement for my computer to look into accessing the files again, if I can at all.
I will see what I can do when I get the chance.
anyone have pictures of black premium versatile plastic, smooth fine detail plastic mask? i really wonder about quaility compared with Black High Definition Acrylate
This is the best pic there is to offer atm. Hopping on here again to check in. Buying myself the titan scale in the premium because it’s the best option they’ve got currently, and I don’t want to wait for them to remove any more options while I’m not looking. I’ll post a comparison to the regular nylon MoUP I have when it gets here.
I would also be interested in getting the stl file.
He’s left the community without stating his departure. He stopped communicating with Rolloutreviews in regards to finishing the MoUP, and if you visit his Deviantart you can see that he’s been working on other projects over the months unrelated to Bionicle and ignoring any questions realted to the subject. Multiple people have even sent him pms and moat haven’t gotten a response, either. My assumption is that he’s thrown in the towel in terms of working on prints for the theme, but that’s totally within his right to do so. An official parting would’ve been nice instead of merely ghosting everyone but it is what it is. I wouldn’t hold out for his return. I would personally suggest looking into other Bionicle shop owners on Shapeways and maybe contacting them to inquire about any commissions or projects. Cyberhand unfortunately has put this behind him.
Hello, Crunchy.
I see you have 3D model of mask of ultimate power.
Last week ago I tried to contact with Cyber-Hand, but I see he left internet and Bionicle community.
I wanted to ask him about 3D model on facebook, but he didn’t answer.
So I comeback here to ask someone else who has a file model.
Please share with me. If it’s possible and you have model file.
Hello Zhocker,
No, I do not have a model of Cyber’s mask. I bought the print same as everyone else when it was on Shapeways.
Does anybody have the model for the MoUP?
I finally got his long lost mask model. However, I think I’ll make my version only by taking the CyberHand mask as a basis. I’m thinking of making it as if it were made by LEGO. I mean, I want to try to make a full version with all the qualities of the easy part. This mask should come out much cheaper on Shapeways. I might even sell a 3D model
Could you send me the file or tell me where you found it? I’ve been looking for it off and on for months now.
Could you also share the file with me. I’ve been searching for so long.
I won’t send you his file, but you can buy my mask from my etsy, it’s a way, WAY better.
