DnD-inspired Toa MOCs

The aim with these builds was to create a set of Toa based off the classes from Dungeons & Dragons. I went with some slightly more unconventional colour palettes for some of these, like Air, Ice and Earth. As with my other recent builds, all of these are purist buildable aside from the masks.
Bard (Air)

The first one I built, this one started with the guitar. I don’t have as much to say about it as some of the others, beyond the pose being inspired by Skull Kid from Majora’s Mask.

Rogue (Sonics)

The daggers attach to pins on the hips.

Wizard (Fire)

Unfortunately I couldn’t figure out a way to properly attach the hat, so it’s just balanced on top of the mask instead. The goal with the staff was to make it look like charred wood, so it goes from black to grey to brown. The torso was partially inspired by Strakk, with the top half being at a right angle to the hips.

Ranger (Water)

To fit the aquatic theme, this ranger is armed with a harpoon gun instead of a bow, as well as a giant ring to swing from. If I were to build this in real life, the string would be tied around the ring, but because strings are awkward in Studio it’s just sticking out instead. There are also propellers mounted on the shins, which can be moved up and down.

Warlock (Psionics)

A Warlock possessed by their patron, with a rare instance of me using CCBS in a MOC. Here it’s used to represent that the creature taking over their body is not a natural part of the Matoran Universe.
Bonus pre-possession version:

Barbarian (Ice)

Sand green isn’t a canon Ice colour, but I decided to use it anyway because I liked how it looked.

Druid (Plantlife)

Armed with a pitchfork and a Mask of Shapeshifting, this Toa usually takes the form of a Turaga to avoid fighting whenever possible.

Cleric (Plasma)

Both the cleric and the paladin have Haus incorporated into their designs to represent their worship of Mata Nui. The cleric’s lance splits into a shield, which can be mounted on the back, and a spear.

Monk (Earth)

The only Toa in this set with waist articulation, this Toa wields a monk’s spade.

Artificer (Iron)

This is the shortest Toa in the set, but makes up for it with a big wrench (can be adjusted) and an enormous robot.

Paladin (Gravity)

As with the cleric, the paladin features a Hau, this time as a design on the shield. The sword is studded with Lightstones to fend off the evil that lurks in the shadows.
Better view of the body:

Sorcerer (Lightning)

The wheels on the limbs are intended to resemble electromagnetic coils, and the weapons can be mounted on the back.

Fighter (Stone)

Armed only with a hammer and a shield by default, this Toa uses their control over stone to create new weapons out of the environment as needed.

Blood Hunter (Magnetism)

Finally, the Toa of Magnetism uses blue and red to represent their elemental powers, with the latter also doubling as a symbol of their class. The chestplate is intended to resemble a spread hand, and the mace is attached to the back by a chain.

Lineup (tallest to shortest)

(ignore the eye pieces, I don’t know why Studio does that when the camera is far away)

These Dnd inspired toa are delightful and beautiful. Love the details you put there.

That arm reminds me of a Flood Combat Form. Cool designs for all these guys!

I don’t play DnD but these are still cool. I especially like the mage, any chance we could get more breakdown photos of it?

Here’s some other angles for the wizard:

(The connectors in the foot are held together by a 2L axle that’s partially inserted into both connectors)
If there’s any bits of it that aren’t clear from these, let me know.

Looks clear enough! That torso is really interesting, I like the repeated use of the Mahri Matoro piece.

It’s a useful piece, although I do sometimes worry about overusing it (see: the Toa of Plasma from this team).

This is a really cool build you made for the dnd inspired toa. Say will we get a new dnd inspired Bionicle character? If so how about a two headed water/lightning/psionics toa? I ask because I’ve seen many people try to make two headed characters do spellcasting similar to those 3rd Party races in Pathfinder, called Taddols.

that’s where I recognize it from!
