Do anyone know of a way to get the original Bionicle Promo CDs to work on todays computers?

i have tried to get the original Bionicle Promo CDs to work on my computer, but so far it have not worked. So i thus ask if anyone on the message board have been able to do it on their computer.

when ever i try to start the Promo CDs, i get this message:

A terminal error has occurred in your program. Shut down all other running programs and try again. You may also have to reinstall the product.

i downloaded the Promo CDs from BioMedia Project just so you all know.

It might have something to do with the Operating System you’ve got.

They were designed for a short lived “mini CD” player.

If you want to play them you have to get those off Ebay.

i do own the old cds, even those don’t work.

It’s not a normal CD player.

It needs to be a special “mini-CD” player.

The original CDs wont work because they need that kind of player.

where exactly would i be able to find a special mini-cd player?

because you kind of makes it sound like i need to buy an out of date computer in order to play them.

and how do you know if that will work? have you tried that yourself?

It’s a CD-ROM, and it’s definitely possible to get them to work on computers running anything up through Windows 7 or Snow Leopard. As others said, it’s just a matter of hooking up the right attachments to your PC.

It might be a good bet to purchase a cheap, crappy computer from 15 years ago or find a friend who has one.

i would like to inform you all that the Toa Metru Promo CD programs from BMP, they work fine, but its the older Promo CD programs that does not work.

Depends.

If its the one out of old bionicle canisters then no.

It it’s an actual normal sized CD then yes.

@DarkHenrik what kind is it?

FEI I got my info from doing a bunch of research about a year a go to get one of the old canister CDs to play.

the Toa Metru Promo CDs where mini CDs like the other Promo CDs.

like i said, when i instaled them on my computer, they worked fine, but with the other Promo CD programs, when i try to install them, they say that there is a problem, or even states that my computer does not have enough memory.

i don’t think it have anything to do with what CD-player i have.

andi do remember being able to play these programs before.

Actually, if it only works when you’re not trying to use the disk itself and are just downloading it, that’s more of a reason that it would be a hardware issue.

i tried to install the Bohrok Swarm promo cd program, and now when i try to start it, it says:

QuickTime has not been installed properly onto your system. Please reinstall this product and make sure QuickTime is being installed in the process. Then try again.

and after that, it says:

Systems or data failed to setup. You may be running out of memory. Shut down all other programs and try again.

this is the message i have resived ever since i installed it again, originaly the message i resived was the one i have mentiond to you all:

i don’t understand it. when i tried to look for help before asking here, i found one persion stating that he manadge to get his Promo cds to work by instaling the newer version of QuickTime, which i have tried, but it still did not work.

My brother uses Linux. He just shoved in a disk and installed. I’m sorry but I can’t really help you beyond that.

I bought a rahkshi from Amazon some time ago and got a promotional CD with it. It would not show up on my computer as actually being in the disk drive. Does anyone know a solution?
