Thanks, I just joined today. Just so you know i used to be joeyc5034.
(I might have got the 3 and the 4 mixed up)
I want to be contrary and say the Hero Factory Recon Dropship ![]()
Has multiple functions, cool decals and details like controls in the cockpit as well as an affordable size and fun colour scheme.
Out of Bionicle itself, I’d say the Jetrax looks cool from what I’ve seen, love the folding wings reminiscent of a carrier fighter. Having a copy of the Rockoh T-3 though, I must say it is also really cool and a nice all-rounder.
Wow I didn’t commit to one choice oops
Out of all the ones I own, have recreated or seen irl before, it’s gotta be the Cendox V1 or Lesovikk’s sea sled.
The Cendox has a nice steering setup and good shaping. I like Technic snowmobiles in general and this one’s a great addition to the lineup, especially with its unique color scheme.
The sea sled is simple but successful, it does everything it needs to do almost flawlessly. It’s nice to see that mechanism from Nidhiki’s legs return, the springy flipping action is fun!
Some thoughts on the others:
- Toa Ignika’s sky surfboard is rather unremarkable on its own, but I like the shaping. It’s a very nice use of comparatively few parts. Great source of panels and weapon parts, too!
- Vultraz’ flyer isn’t terribly exciting, but there’s nothing wrong about it either. I’m quite a fan of how the wings look, great use of that triple axle connector piece.
- The Axalara T9 is huge… But that’s really all it has going for it. The flip-out triple thing in the back is cool, though I haven’t really understood what it’s even supposed to be and it can easily stab the rider in their back. Revealing the blasters is neat too, but is a bit pointless without the ability to remotely fire them. The functions feel rather stiff and like to get stuck, and it’s gotta be the least aerodynamic spaceship ever…
- Rockoh T3 is nicer with its launching mechanism, though it feels a bit flimsy to use. Overall its size is satisfying, the shape is nice and the wings help making it look at least somewhat airborne.
- Takanuva’s Ussanui is interesting and I love the mechanism to flip out the landing gear. However, the air katanas really don’t feel strong enough to support the whole thing.
- The Kaxium V3 is the only one I genuinely dislike. A motorcycle with a detachable sidecar is a great idea, but the execution just feels messy. All those parts don’t come together to form a coherent shape, it’s just a chaotic pile of pieces that doesn’t really look like anything.
Can’t speak for any of the other vehicles since I’ve never had them in hand before. The Thornatus V9 looks amazing, though!
My favorite is the Ussanui
It is the only one I own
