Favorite Films of 2016

Well, another year in the world of cinema is coming to a close.

2016 didn’t have too many films that interested me personally compared to last year, but those that worked, really worked.

Mine are

  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
  • Captain America: Civil War
  • Doctor Strange
  • Star Trek Beyond
  • Hacksaw Ridge
  • Deepwater Horizon

The Jungle Book remake and X-Men Apocalypse were also decent, but not exceptional.

Rogue One
Civil War
Doctor Strange
Hacksaw Ridge
Star Trek Beyond
Finding Dory

no order, I just love these movies

My list is almost the same but this year I saw a movie that I didn’t really intend to watch at first and that became one of my favourites of the year, it was a small New Zealand film that wasn’t in thearters in most places, ‘Hunt for the Wilderpeople’ And I recommend anyone to watch it if they get the chance. My list in no real order:

. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
. Hunt for the Wilderpeople
. Deadpool
. Captain America: Civil War
. Doctor Strange

“The 25th highest-grossing film of all time. The film received the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Animated Feature.” Nah Zootopia was just a good movie.

Zootopia (call me a kid all you want)
Batman v Superman (didnt care for it much, but the 15 minutes of action that it had was noice)

I didnt really watch too many films in 2016… i suppose the Marvel movies and potentially Deadpool would be on the list - but cant really remember many others.

The only movie I really saw this year was Rogue One (I did see 2001, but that’s from a long time ago). Overall, I would say it was a pretty good movie

Get you broken lime parts ready cus’ Top 5 here we go:

  1. Cap America: Civil War
  2. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
  3. Deadpool
  4. Doctor Strange
  5. Finding Dory

I have only seen three films from 2016: The Angry Birds Movie, the first Kizumonogatari film and Hardcore Henry.

Even as a Shaft enthusiast I can’t deny that Hardcore Henry was the most fun I’ve had at the cinema since Iron Sky. It’s an immature flick for big boys and girls and I highly recommend it to those who don’t need their parents’ permission to access Lego message boards. (Hardcore Henry is very graphic throughout its lenght, so don’t watch it if you’re underage or if violent material makes you feel unwell.)

Rogue One

And then in no particular order:

Hacksaw Ridge
Doctor Strange

YAY! People agree with me!

No particular order:
Rogue One
Captain America: Civil War
Fantastic Beasts
Doctor Strange
Finding Dory

Haven’t seen Arrival yet, but I have the feeling it would make my list.

Thank goodness no one wrote Suicide Squad.

Rogue One for sure.

Other than that, I haven’t seen many new movies this year…

Finding Dory
Civil War
Fantastic Beasts.

Still have to catch on Rogue One and Doctor Strange :b

5 - Finding Dory
I love Disney. And this is a good movie. But other movies were better last year.
4 - Doctor Strange
Don’t get me wrong, this movie is fantastic, but I don’t like it as much as other movies.
3 - CA: Civil War
I didn’t get around to seeing this until 2017, but it was worth the wait. Great movie, and plus Spiderman debuts in the MCU in this movie (WHICH GAVE US SPIDERMAN: HOMECOMING)
2 - Rouge One: A Star Wars Story
My opinions on this have changed the least. Yes, it’s still a great movie. But I don’t think its “one of the greatest movies to ever exist” anymore. Still great though.
1 - Deadpool

It’s obvious why this is my number one

Honorable Mentions (In no order):

  • Zootopia
Good, but I didn’t like it enough to put it on my list. One of my favorite Disney movies though.
  • The Angry Birds Movie
I somehow liked this movie and still do (It’s kind of bad but so bad that it’s almost good)
  • X-Men Apocolypse
I don’t get why people hate/dislike this movie. I thought it was pretty good.
  • Fantastic Beasts
I liked this movie, but i’m not really a fan of Harry Potter so I found it to be a little boring at times.
