Favorite video game consoles

Play Station 2.

I grew up with it, and it has my three favorite game series.

-Kingdom Hearts

-Ratchet and Clank

-Jak and Daxter

I actually liked the Wii. I dunno why, in games I played on it, I loved it’s use of motion controls, like in Super Mario Galaxy.

I also enjoyed the NES and SNES. Although SNES was the first system I tried out when I was younger. Xbox 360 is one of the systems I prefer the most, though, besides using the PC.

Yeah, but I was talking more along the lines of the games on it more than the hardware itself :stuck_out_tongue:

I love you.

Then one I can play at.

I grew up with a Game Cube and a Wii. The Game Cube was great and I liked the Wii during its run. Once that generation came to an end I stopped buying video games and all of the sudden the Wii U came out all these great games I would have loved are coming out left and right within like the past year and a half. Honestly I feel like I got jipped.

Definitely the Wii for me. I like it for a variety of reasons:

  • Pointing at the screen for controls is super intuitive.
  • The remote is very comfortable to hold, and the Nunchuk is a neat idea. Having both sides of the controller be seperate pieces means that you don’t always need to have both hands next to each other when playing.
  • Motion controls can be a nuisance if used incorrectly, but most games I play use them in very good and intuitive ways. Especially games like Wii Sports where you need to stand up and move to play are very fun.
  • Lots of great games.
  • Easy to pick up and play, even for people who don’t have much interest in general video games.
  • Built in GameCube compatibility.
  • Easy to mod. Homebrew that thing and you’ve got so many great abilities! I’m using it to play Mario Kart Wii online and emulate NES/SNES/GBA games, but it could do even more.
  • It’s just stylish on the outside, it looks good and not out of place on most TV sets.

I’m also a fan of the N64, GameCube (which, like I said, is built into the Wii) and DS, but the Wii takes the number 1 spot for me.

Badabing, badaboom. Another topic resurrected from its doom.

Nintendo Switch for me, 3DS at a distant second now. Most of the time I’m playing video games nowadays is if I feel too exhausted to do anything else, so a major priority is being able to play the games comfortably while lying down, which can be easily done in handheld mode while still having a wide array of games.

This is my favorite console too. I might be a little biased because this is the only console I own but in general I just like Nintendo more because I feel like they have kept trying to innovate.

Like a lot of people here, I’m a Nintendo kind of guy. Their stuff is always different from the last (excluding remakes of older consoles) meaning every time you buy a new product you’re legitimately getting something new, instead of just Xbox 1 in a new color with maybe a few hardware upgrades.

Biggest example is 3DS to Switch. I got a 3DS in about 2016 or 2017 and then was gifted a Switch a few years later. To this day, I still use both regularly because they both can do different things. The 3DS’ electronics might be inferior to the Switch but it still feels amazing to play on the go, while the Switch is an awesome way to game at home.

Besides, Nintendo just has a lot of great games that are Nintendo-exclusive.
