Favourite HotWheels Tracks or Tracksets

I was born in 2001 and I fondly remember collecting HotWheels cars and tracksets, watching the ads. Nostalgia is good.
Personally my favourite trackset was the Terrordactyl or the Ultimate Lavaland track sets

I had this thing as a kid, and it rocked! (you can fold it out to turn it into a track.)

I remember having this, Gorilla Attack, when I was younger and really enjoying it.

I always wanted to get the Highway 35 Tracks, but that never really happened. I did get this, though:

The Serpent Cyclone was pretty fun, though sometimes if the cars landed funny they’d jam up the motors. It also came with a version of my favorite car, Slingshot, which was just topping on the cake:

I almost forgot about that one! I probably still have it around here somewhere…

I remember having an old T-Rex track, but it broke many years ago. I still recall the day my parents got rid of it…

I have way more nostalgia for the old website, honestly.

I spent way too much time with this…

So this is actualy Matchbox, but I figure it’s close enough.

I had this thing as a little kid.

I got this for one christmas on request… I think it was '06?

Needless to say, the slime lava was kind of a one-trick pony and he ended up fading into the obscurity of my closet rather quickly.

But man was I excited to get it.

06 yeah. This is one of my faves as it was the first HotWheels 2006 track. I had almost the entire Ultimate Lavaland trackset collection.
If it wasn’t for the darn Volcano play set and the Tiki Attack Set I would’ve had it all.

I had the Spider thing, the Lion Escape I think and Slimecano.

My favorite was always this:

Just a big tub of track parts (which are below the cars). I always liked making my own tracks around the house, and the tub was quite useful! It’s handy for storage, the lid makes a track crossing and when you flip it over, the blue part becomes a big ramp. There’s also a few connectors with Lego studs, which were helpful for building things like loopings.

As for the premade stunt tracks, I remember having three. For one, a dual raceway with loopings and a dragon that you were supposed to shoot cars at. One lane worked fine, the other never did. I still have some parts left:

I also recall having this for a very short time, but the snake was green. The motor didn’t run, and it was gone again very quickly (my parents probably threw it out, I don’t remember).

Also a ramp launcher set with a purple wall behind it that had a spinning star attached to it. The launcher was really powerful and always sent the cars flying all over the place, that was fun.

This is pretty cool. Lots of popular toy series could easily incorporate studs and make their toys more compatible with Lego, and I think that would be good for both parties as well as the kid playing

I used to have this but sold it before entering my Acceleracers obsession

I’d love to get it back someday

Definitely! It’s these two here, one standard connector and one that pivots around a little ball joint (which isn’t compatible with any of Lego’s sizes, unfortunately). These were always super helpful for me to make loopings and jump ramps since you could easily attach the tracks to simple Lego structures.

That’s not everything though, more parts are meant to work with Lego. The launcher has square cutouts on the top and bottom that fit 2x2 bricks, and those side thingies on the curve parts also work as antistuds.

I agree that more toylines could make use of this compatibility, it’s definitely nice to have.

Also now that I’ve got it dumped out on the floor, here’s my collection from inside the tub if anyone cares

Edit: did some more digging and found out that my other two sets were “Terrordactyl” and “Meteor Mayhem”. Latter one brings back fun memories.
