First Lego League

I’ve heard of FFL here and there over the years. I remember going to see a local tournament when I was younger, but I never thought of joining. I guess I’m just not really into robotics that much.

I also remember almost wanting to sign up for this, especially when they offered pizza. But I didn’t know how to use Lego Mindstorms, anyways.

My friend Star_fighter89 was in FLL and I went to one of his meetings. The night before, we stayed up playing Minecraft until 3 A.M and then we woke up at 8:40 A.M and I had a huge headache that whole day. This was last summer

I was on a team, we were pretty good. Somehow we always scored the highest on teamwork challenges.

I was on a team once. We failed miserably, due to an incident involving a cup of pudding.

I don’t even…

Why pudding?

Ask the guy who brought it there.

How did the pudding do anything?

It flew into someones eyes, and for some reason they decided to flip over a table, causing us to get kicked out.

That guy has some serious anger issues…

Well my FRC season is coming up so I’ll join in again as well. Last month, I actually volunteered for one of the local state championships. I did it for volunteer hours as well as racking up good karma for the possibility of working toward a Chairman’s Award at the FRC regional. I have to say it was really fun and kind of weird to see the other branches of the FIRST competitions.

I was in FLL in sixth grade and 8th grade. It was pretty fun, although I never really learned how to code the robot all that well. I was more of a builder and idea generator, since I was seemingly the most experienced with building with technic.

We actually won one of the competitions, but we were only competing with like, six other teams. Then we moved onto the next round, at the liberty science museum, where we failed pretty miserably. It was fun fo explore the museum afterwards, though.

Honestly, I’m kind of glad that we didn’t win the second round. It was already quite exhausting. I didn’t want to have to go through the process of going all the way to Disney with my teammates (only some of which I’d consider friends), in addition to the presentations we had to do.
