Vahki wastes no time in assessing the situation and concluding that, if there was conflict in the lighthouse, they were capable enough to fight-back, at least long enough for it to assist the other. So instead, it focused it’s attention on the Visorak, firing staff blasts at the spider.

Gatora finds that the exit at the bottom of the floor has no traps or dangerous Rahi. At least none immediately trying to get her. Though she likely does see the Vahki out in the middle of the street, halfway between the lighthouse and feeding center.

Tar and Derk both find Gatora outside, having bolted before either of them left. Or should have noticed would be the better operative, given they somehow didn’t notice her and moved on. They also seem to have missed the Vahki, but should be able to clearly see it now as they approach it.

The large, dome shaped building that was the feeding center was hard to miss. And now that the Matoran are closer, they can see Voyo being attacked by a lone Visorak. Though the Vahki was attempting to remediate this issue.

However, with the distance between it and the spider, it hears the blasts incoming and leaps off to the side. The staff energies burn into part of the building and while it did miss, at least it was off of Voyo for now. Not that the Matoran could take advantage of this as he was still paralyzed.

The Visorak hums a whistle that not even the Vahki can register. The three Hordika Hapaka stop dragging the dead wolves and immediately turn their attention towards the Vahki and other Matoran. They charge towards them, firing their barking Rhotuka at the group.

As Kibal begins to open his eyes and asks his question, he might notice strangely that he doesn’t feel his old speech impediment. Though not like it was gone and cured, just different. Like something else took its place, but he sounded normal so far.

As sight started coming, the stark contract made his vision blurry, as though one having slept for a long time. Before he can fully make out what’s in front of him, he hears two other voices in the room. Neither were the voice in his head. They almost sound animalistic, but for some reason he can understand them anyways.

“Another one?”

“Yes, so it seems.”

“How many are left? Didn’t we get all of these ones?”

“Seems not.”

“Perhaps there was a mistake.”

“Perhaps.”

As his vision finally cleared, Kibal could see whom was before him.

Monsters.

Or at least they looked like monsters. They were small and Matoran-like, though not as the same Matoran form as Kibal saw with the others. He could recognize it as Matoran shaping, but can’t remember why other than familiarity. Yet their armor was primarily purple and black. Their heads were elongated, filled with sharp and surgically precise teeth. And their hands ended in claws, though both of their right arms ended in wicked energized weapons.

If Kibal was not immediately frightened by the two, he may be able to take in the rest of the room. Everything had a tinted red glow, but the it looked like the inside of a Matoran. Or perhaps more accurately, it looked like the that Keras crab remains when the others had dissected it. Assuming he caught a glance of that from atop the lighthouse. Walls of organic tissue and metal structuring, but like that Keras, the tissue was agitated and mutated, clearly in an unnatural state.

Despite some of them complaining, they do not attract any Rahi yet. Halmos doesn’t see any critters on the rooftops either, but some movements of shadows may spook him. Though he and Weldvo might notice before the others the very wrong nature of the chute above.

The liquid Protodermis had long evaporated in the streets below, so the chute shouldn’t even be identified by them as such as that tube of water was gone. Only the rings atop pillars were left of the old original chute system. Yet there were still tubes, only strung together in a tapestry of green and silver webs. A spider highway perhaps?

As they near to being under the chute, the more keen and shifty-eyed among them may notice something in the chute webs. They were green and blended in well, but larger than the Visorak seen so far. It was difficult to tell if they were sleeping or laying in wait. Those who were not looking up however, they see they are about to hit a small river. Looks as though there are small small bridges that will allow easy enough crossing.

Gatora looks down at the group and their current predicament. She hefts her Kanoka Disk Launcher up and aims a shot as to ricochet off two of the Hapaka’s and hit the ground under them in an attempt to either stun or hurt the other. She then ducks behind the door as to not be seen.

Vergil just barely notices the…things, in the webs, as she looks around. “Look up. Things. Larger than…the spiders?”

She looks back down quickly, focusing back on hefting the shield and the gear on it along with her. “Should hurry. Don’t want to get caught…out here.”

@rainsong @Atobe_Brick @Spawner @Ghid

“We should go around,” Lync says. “Unless you’d rather get eaten by whatever’s up there.”

Halmos instantly noticed the creatures, but a devious thought set in, and he pretended not to notice them until Vergil brought them up.

Halmos shook his head. The creatures he could see… Whatever caused the shadows to move - they had to have been moving - that he couldn’t see. 70% chance it was worse than what he could.

“Whatever we do, we’ve got to do it at the same speed.” Halmos muttered, his mind running circles over the situation. “Best chance they’re asleep and we don’t wake them up. Worse chance they’re hunting us, and we run away, and they decide to chase.”

“Just keep going.” He mumbled, walking almost robotically, his eyes darting into every corner and shadow, widening suddenly as he noticed the river. “Uh.”

“Water.” Vergil says in a voice that sounds like she’s talking about the end of the world. She glances at the water, and then towards the closest bridge, trying to see how large it is exactly.
“Any ripples or bubbles you see in the water?”

I don’t know what you’re talking about, that was absolutely 100% intention, certainly not me being the idiot that isn’t me

IC:
Upon arriving to the feeding center, Tar sees the helpless Voyo on the ground and then turns to see the fierce Gatora take on the Hapaka. Realizing his lack in capability to fend off the attackers, he scans the area for any places to take cover in. He creeps around, hoping to evade the conflict. “Derk, come here. I’m gonna need your help,” he signals him to follow.

Derk fellows tar down towards the feeding center, when tar gestures to derk to come over he goes over to him “yes? What is it?” Derk asks tar lazily

“We gotta get him out the way, he’s just laying there.” He points over to Voyo.

The vahki launched a freeze disk at the visorak, before turning to open fire with it’s staves at the Hapaka.

Derk turns to tar and says “Alright I got an idea/plan which could go ever wrong/bad or it could work” Derk glances back to Voyo then back to tar “this is what we need to do, I need you to run over to Voyo, pick him up and bring him back here” derk pauses for a moment and continues “I will provide cover/fire, if need be” derk says whilst he opens his trench coat and pulls out one of his disks

“Eh…” He wasn’t too thrilled to say the least, but hey, it’s not like he had anything better in mind. He takes a second to look at the site, a place full of chaos. “Well, uh… here goes nothing.” He makes a run for it.

“Er right!, I’m right behind you, don’t look back I got you ever covered!” Derk calls out to tar from his spot where he just got up from

Halmos looked at the stagnant, dead, rotting, repulsive…

He turned away with a compressed brow and a hand over his nose. “Somebody else look at it.” He growled.

The Visorak jumps to its left, avoiding the disk. Though unfortunate for the Vahki, it did not dodge the incoming Rhotuka and the machine finds its hearing and visual capabilities hindered. Sharp barks fills its head and its blurred vision attempts to force the Vahki towards the only direction it could see. It prompts it incredibly so, difficult to resist. Though going in the direction it wants would lead to the Vahki to take a swim off the shores of the lighthouse.

As for its energy blasts, they graze one of the hounds, but it does not stop. Two of mutants head for the Vahki while the third one splits to go after Tar and Derk. Gatora’s shot, while it does avoid hitting the Vahki, is far enough that the Hapaka evade it. Though for now Gatora is safe hiding inside the lighthouse.

The same could not be said for Tar and Derk, who decided to go towards the danger. Creeping around was not an option as they were already spotted. Though while by sheer luck the Rhotuka misses them, Tar gets tackled by the Hordika Hapaka. It attempts to chomp on Tar’s mask while it charges up its Rhotuka.

The Visorak watches readily and charges up another Rhotuka.

Kibal can set up, but he notices it feels different. Like he was taller than the short form he woke up from originally. Though in sitting up, he gets a partially look at himself and finds his hands were claws. Not only claws, but a large peg-esc spike coming out of the back of the hands, almost like the Visorak feet. Speaking of which, seeing his feet also showed this peg spike gutting out, but his feet were wider and flatter than before. There may be more changes, but he would need a mirror or some reflective surface to find out.

“Oh, it’s asking questions?”

“Odd, maybe there’s something wrong. Shouldn’t it have left be now?”

“It really should have.”

“Maybe answering it will resolve the bug?”

“Maybe. But where are we?”

“We’re here and they should be there.”

“Indeed, indeed. Staying on this station is temporary, it should go back.”

It didn’t seem like these things would provide anything useful.

Going around the chute was possible, but it would take quite a journey to get there as it was the primary chute. It goes all the way to the coliseum in the south and stretches up far north until the heart of Ga-Metru. And even then, it only stops as it reaches the largest building in this city. It would continue on afterwards, though Lync wouldn’t have been able to see that far back when she was high up.

Unless, of course, the plan was to just go around and head under a different area of the chute. Which would be much more reasonable to try than literally go around. Though it there is a lot of stretch of chute, so who knows how many creatures may be in those other sections.

But as for the bridge, it looked wide enough for two Matoran to walk across side by side. Not large, but workable. At least it didn’t look like it would collapse underneath them. No moment in the water as far as the group could see.

The Keerakh, more than any other model of vahki, absolutely hated the water. Channeling this inner hatred, it managed to gather enough mental fortitude to shoot itself with a teleport kanoka, looking to teleport in right on top of the visorak.

“NO!!! GET OFF ME!!!” In a struggle for survival, Tar kicks and swings his fists at the hapaka. “DERK, DO SOMETHING!!!”

“On it” derk calls from afar as he starts to get his run up, when he got enough speed, he leaped in to the air, with his weakness disk in one hand and his shield in the other, which he chucks to tar “catch this!” Derk calls to Tar, when derk reach the best point of his arc he throws the disk down towards hapaka

“Hey, er, why is my body different, and didn’t I die or some thing?” Kibal asks the creatures “and how do you not know where you are? And what are you two? Like what’s your species, if you are one” kibal mutters to them “and what do you mean ‘it should have left’?”

With great care, Vergil places the shield and supplies she’d been carrying on the ground beside Halmos. “Watch them,” she mutters as she creeps over to the bridge.

Trembling only slightly, Vergil examines the bridge and the immediate surroundings, treading about halfway across and praying every second nothing jumps out at her. Her imagination flares with images of huge, hulking things in the water, of giant and warped shapes with hungering, long eyes.

Vergil’s steps become more unsteady as she gets closer to the middle of the bridge.
