G2 Makuta (JTO) Titan recolor

One of my long running projects, I spent a solid five years slowly accumulating gold, black, and trans-purple. The design is still about 95% the original combo model, for which I got the instructions from here back in 2016. But there are a large number of small structural improvements, a new weapon, and some improved armor designs. There are no blue pins, red axles, or other stupid technic colors.

The Mask came from a Canadian Etsy seller, I repainted using citadel Auric Gold for color matching. I used a satin coat to seal it.

Pretty solid recolor. The vibe fits much better with a more unified color scheme than the random mess the original had to work with. It just goes to show a moc is only as good as its color distribution.

Honestly, the base model is steller for a combo build. But yeah, color blocking is huge. So many g1 combos look better if their recolored.

Where did the gold feet pieces for the hands come from?

While i like the colours of the original, this does feel much more like Makuta.

They came off the gorilla chima build, I think. They are real parts. I see G2 makuta as a different character, so I like the purple and black for him. But I agree the official colors aren’t bad. Just mixed weird.

I completely agree about the color scheme. Seeing him side-by-side with the original presents a striking contrast, one that I think is intensified by the cape, which makes your version look even more impressive. Good work!

Impressive. It looks far more stable with this design compared to the clunky arm blade and color scheme that limits him as a mess of colors

The Hammer is also a nice touch to remind people of his former role.

The purple being most prominent on his stomach and forearms makes it look like he has a purple band around him. The changes definitely make him look more imposing.
