Im going to have to redraw these someday later cause some of the details are unclear.
Also Lewa’s mask looks weird.

Some nice concepts. I like the way you designed Voriki’s mask and overall character here.
Thanks, tbh voriki i think came out the best cause her concept was maybe ninja plus pirate.
Why doesn’t Voriki have the staff?
Well, lewa and gali are canon, voriki is essential canon,
pohatu doesn’t really fit being female imo, in g1 he’s a chill bro and in g2 he’s a massive edgelord, and in both he’s stronk, I just can’t see the guy as a chick.
@Leoxandar lol i forgot voriki had a staff
@Payinku personally, i dont mind pohatu being either a male or female. As long as they make pohatu’s character interesting then im fine with either.
I love this, at first I didnt really like the concept of brickonicle, but after seeing things like this, I wish we get this, and I’d love if these were the genders, it just feels right
With lewa and kopaka I can understand the argument, their personalities can really go either way, gali and onua already have similar personalities, but tahu and pohatu are just so inherently male that it’s frankly uncanny to see them as female, like it feels weird.
This is the wrong question to ask. The important thing here is why are they so smol?
I love your Voriki, I definitely want to incorporate elements of this, especially the mask.
@Payinku you make very sound points. But after i heard some talk of the toa being spirits that matorans/villagers inherit, then i think that anyone with the same personalities as the toa, could be the toa regardless of gender.
@SirKeksalot they’re not smol if you zoom in
@IllustriousVar thank you very much!
I’ve made my argument against that in the canon topic, so I won’t reiterate it here, but I’m strongly against this idea in its current form.
Ok have you SEEN their heads m8
They’re like lil’ babs
I’ve an Idea, though it really only complicates things:
The spirit of Toa fall from the sky as their true incarnation ie Tahu, Gali etc, and can pass on their power to a matoran, splitting from their physical form and inhabiting a shrine during the transfer. the chosen matoran who become toa through the shrine can then fulfill their destiny before passing the spirit on and becoming turaga when complete.
however should a toa made form a matoran meet a terrible fate and/or become corrupted as a twisted monster, the elemental spirit will gather half of what element that resided in the corrupted and fall from the skies again as their true incarnations, albeit with half their elemental strength. but should the true incarnation meet such a fate, the element will risk being tainted unless the matoran recover their element and revive the toa spirit. of the fallen elements, shadow was first to fall.
it’s not much, but it adds some needed depth and puts some sort of tension for each toa to protect their matoran as well as preserve themselves.
The toa mythos doesn’t need to be super deep, imo the way ttv has suggested the toa work is already confusing and convoluted and your suggestion is even more confusing and convoluted, keeping the world’s mechanics simple is an absolute necessity, it keeps people on track and makes getting into the series significantly easier, the story and characters can and should be complex and deep, the way the world works should be simple to grasp and straight forward.
You say this like it’s a bad thing when simplifying it too much denies the possibility for depth that appeals to multiple levels of fandom. “you don’t need to know everything to understand and appreciate lore” see 5:04 to 8:08 for full argument.
it just has to be handled right.
@SirKeksalot lol i can redraw them bigger or something.
@Payinku @Innodence I agree with levels of fandom because I once heard, I think from ids, that g1 bionicle had three levels of understanding. One which you get from toys which is the basic story, the second which was the books and other sources, and the third level which is the superfans who went above and beyond to understand bionicle in whole. This way fans could appreciate the levels that appeal to them.
Because making basic parts of how the world works confusing and convoluted is a bad thing, as I just explained.
I think he’s trying to contrast your point with the point that a touch of complexity can also draw some people, and make things more interesting. So, we have to keep in mind that its a balance.
I really love your style, especially with Voriki. She looks amazing and I’d like to explore something further with that design if we went forward with this character.
