Gali, Toa of Water; A 2015 Master of Water Revamp.
Hello there everybody! So this will be my first post to the TTV Message Boards, so if this looks super novice, I’m sorry!
Ever since LEGO decided to move forward with the cancellation of BIONICLE, I’ve always wanted to see what it would be like, to go back, and combine the elements of the 2016, and 2016 Toa. With the harmonization of Elemental properties, Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 pieces, and functions!
So this will be my first of six Toa revamps that I’ll be doing; Gali!
The concept behind this line is simple; maintain a new style of build, while keeping nostalgia (with parts, and functions) as a factor as well.
On top of that, I wanted to keep the builds relatively simple, like something LEGO would engineer themselves!
Specifically for Gali; I kept her hook pieces, and brought in the bio-luminescent Barraki pieces to create more of a water elemental feel.
The first image you saw was something that you might see on an instruction booklet for her.
One thing that changed drastically was the mask colour!
To maintain a proper colour scheme, I wouldn’t have used Dark Azure as her main colour, rather I would have used the normal blue we’ve seen from Gali Mata.
In addition to that, I also added the Metru blue armour as a secondary solid colour, just as a sort of offset to the translucent/bio-luminescent pieces.
Story wise; her weapons are named “Hydraulic Hooks,” as they attach from her forearm, all the way past her hand. The fins on the end, near her biceps, would help her be more streamlined when swimming underwater.
The reason why I went with a silver Hero Factory chest piece, is because;
- I felt as though the shape contoured with her body very nicely.
- I feel as though LEGO could easily remold this to have a place to put a small dot (as a recall to the G1 Toa Mata having a ball on their chest), rather than an H for hero factory.
The tubing on her legs is more for decoration, but if you want to believe there’s something else to it, then by all means go ahead!
That’s about it for her, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask away, and I’ll do my best to answer them!
Thank you, have a splendid morning/afternoon/evening/night!
