I’ve used blender and unreal (blender is absolute garbage)

The best thing ever. Especially when you can use Impulse 101 in Portal to obtain all the weapons from HL2.

Unreal makes some neato games.
Source does too.
I don’t know any others.

Lets see:

Source is easy to use but paying the Havok fee if you want to sell your game is annoying.

Unreal is great for a graphics focused game and the payment to Epic Games if you sell a game with the engine is fair.

Unity is decent if creating a flash game. You can pull off a AAA game but you should use something else.

Gamebryo makes you pay royalties per month on using the engine so don’t touch this if you like having a wallet.

I don’t know much about Frostbite except that DAI uses it.

Creation engine is a Bethesda thing so join that company if you wish to use the engine beyond making mods for bethesda games.

Quake engine is outdated but some of the best classic games used it.

Yup, I do my research.[quote=“king328, post:7, topic:27821, full:true”]

An engine is a toolset not a developer.

We are talking about engines.
I’m pretty sure it’s called “unreal engine”.

Yes, what I am saying is that an engine is a toolkit for making games.

A developer needs to use that engine to make the game.

Okay, let’s talk about Frostbite for a second.

Star Wars: Battlefront is gorgeous. Like, say what you will about the gameplay, but good grief does that game look good. There’s points where it looks more real than the Original Trilogy.

There are two game engines that I feel seriously suffer: Telltale’s and the LEGO Games. They both underperform, and especially in Telltale’s case, it takes away from what the games are trying to do.

The LEGO Games desperately need an upgrade when it comes to engine. I’ve long since resolved not to buy one full price until they finally up the render quality of those games.

TFA does decent.

It’s probably the first innovative lego game in ages.

What about Lego worlds?
