Gods of MATA NUI

I was looking into Hawaiian gods recently, and I thought, “What if there were regional gods on the island of Mata Nui.” So I drew what I thought Mangai (The Great Volcano), Mount Ihu, and Naho Bay might look like. =D

Mountain Gods

Of the three mountain Gods, Rapa is the oldest. Rapa’s mountian has long since subsided and he became the god of the underworld. Second oldest is Ihu who is the tallest of his brethren. Mount has long been extinct and he became the lord of snow and ice. Mangai is the youngest of the three, and the residential volcano god. With his warm lava he is responsible for creating the southern half of the island.

An interesting concept, I never though about it this way before.

Naho reminds me of Moana.

Also, these are not bad.

I think it started when I was reinventing the Nuva Symbols so they would represent parts of the island.

@SammySpartan Thanks.

Naho reminds me of Maona too.

A very creative idea. I could see this working really well if it were integrated in the G1 story, adding a greater level of mythos and culture to Mata Nui.

Possible Nuva design for the God of the Desert.

Also find it ironic that the @Eljay and the rest are talking about Elemental gods a month after I made this topic.
