Goodbye Tahu & Co. - A Poem

To be sung to the tune of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” by Elton John. All creative rights are his property alone.

Goodbye Tahu & Co.

Bionicle’s gone, and for good this time
It may just be buried for now
But would you stake any cash on
A line that has failed twice by now?

Nothing can live on forever
Heck, at least we have plenty to show
Enough fiction and art for the time before time
To stretch on to now, and soften the blow.

So goodbye Tahu and Co.
The time for a fresh tale is now
A bunch of kids still pick fights on
A beast finally now put down

Someday we’ll all journey back to one
Our kids may play with toys of old
But until that day, the future’s far away.
Beyond old Tahu and Co.

What do you think this means then?
I bet you’ll rant in vlogs for days
And raise petitions, and insult, and name-call
Take our reputation to its grave.

Maybe it’ll get a new face lift
You’ll get one more courtesy round
But LEGO just isn’t a charity
They’re a business with both feet on the ground.

Not gonna lie, the people who refuse to let go of Bionicle’s legacy and act as though new sets are their birthright have always gotten on my nerves. Just a little venting.

What do you guys think?

Wow this was powerful. Makes me want to print it out and read it to my kids if I have any one day. [quote=“Azani, post:1, topic:27844”]

Good to hear that it had an effect. I was going for a really heart-wrenching feeling, to be honest.

This is really good, quite powerful for a Bionicle fan.

i don’t really get some of the wording, it sounds like you want the Bionicle fandom to stop working on Bionicle related stuff (which is not based around the idea of gettin back Bionicle, but to continue its stories in fan projects) and that instead the fandom should just let go of Bionicle and leave it alone as a lonely landmark that is in the middle of nowhere.

This should be a song. :stuck_out_tongue:
Nice! I enjoyed it.

You know, I could see why you would think that, as there are some lines that imply that we should just move on. And to some degree, we should move on to other things. I don’t think that all fan projects are bad, though; just the unrealistic, bitter and rude ones.
