Gunpla HG 1/144 Gouf (model kit)

So, I recently bought the Revive HG Gouf, since I really loved the design and the character of the pilot. It became a project.

I wanted to make this as close to the source material as humanly possible without super heavy modification or completely new paint jobs. This is also my first (in my opinion) really good result from seam line removal with Tamiya modeling cement. This was the most amount of work I’ve personally put into a Gunpla (outside of full customs), because every single segment of the tubing and the Heat Rod (whip) has a little black ring painted into it. I don’t want to sound selfish, but I think this is the best result I’ve ever had from making a kit.

The Heat Saber wasn’t modified much. Looks awesome right out of the box.

I made a slight modification to the Vulcan hand. The way it’s made is four fingers fused together, but they each have a separate joint, so I cut them into individual fingers to allow for slightly more posability.

A comparison with the Revive of my favorite Mobile Suit, the Gyan.

That’s about it. Personally, this was worth it. I actually feel like this doesn’t have a lot of issues in the presentation, unlike most of my kits. If you’ve got any advice on techniques, I’m open to hearing them.

Nice review and I completely agree even though I don’t watch the show, I totally would buy because of quality.

Yeah, it’s a really great kit if you just like the design. I personally bought this after watching the debut episode, but it’s been a kit of interest for me before then as well.

Looks really cool!

I am reminded of a Cylon, I do not know why.
